  1. I too, have recently built a fluid bed. I have found that I have to open the flow control valve to excess to get the powder moving, then close the valve until I get the desired result . I use a good quality flow control valve. Some colors of paint do better than others in a fluid bed. I have had no luck with white paint, so far. I have tried the lunch bag and a paper that we we use at work to filter phosphate from water. Both perform the same, but the filter paper is much more durable. I'm thinking of buying some cups from TJ's, as he uses a hard plastic in the bottom of his cups. Do a forum search for fluid bed and you will find lots of posts. Best Regards
  2. Thanks Cadman. I think I'll stay with the tried and true copper, myself.
  3. Sorry for the delay in my reply Cadman. I've been working 7days @ 12hrs. since the first of Dec. I use Danville's 6/0 denier thread. The gold you see is an upholsery thread that I used over the Danville's, just because I liked it. Thanks for all the nice replies. No, I'm not a fly tier, just anal about my work. Best Regards, Kent
  4. Can you use the hitch hikers in a mold that is designed for a weed guard? If so, would you use the .13 coil diam.? Thanks Kent
  5. I try to avoid getting paint in the eye altogether. I use hemostats clamped to the eye when I dip the jig in the paint. I go so far as to dip the hook up to the barb. It is a little awkward at first, but you'll get the hang of it.
  6. What do ya think of the powder coat hook?
