  1. Thank you for the suggestions...I am going to try Basstackle's 712 craw mold since it is closest to the size I would like. I appreciate the help Boys!
  2. Does anyone know a a Mold as close as possible to the Rage craw? I only pour as a hobby but I like pouring baits I will use a lot.
  3. Hey Power, I posted a pic of the beaver mold..it's a 2pc hand pour...let me know if you want to trade...if so do you have any craw or trailer molds? Thanks Bill
  4. Here is the Beaver Mold I have and would be willing to trade temporarily.
  5. Being new to pouring and having a blast doing it I realize I don't have many molds and want to try pouring something different. I have the standard 5" and 4" stik molds plus the 4" french fry molds but I have made enough of those in some cool colors to last me 5 seasons! I do have a nice beaver mold which I love throwing but I have made more than enough of those also. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading any molds with me just for a couple of weeks I guess so I can pour something different then just swap them back. I could post a picture of what I have so you know what I would be swapping. I totally understand this is on the honor system but I'm willing to bet most everyone here is honorable. If anyone is interested post here and we'll try it.
  6. Dave...I was tring to match a color today and used your idea about using glycerine...I'm glad I did it that way for 2 reasons...1 I tweaked it so many times that when I finally got it just the color I wanted I forgot Frank said I needed to add salt which will change the color and 2 by the time I was finished I totally lost track of how many drops of the different colors I used and now have to start over being much more diligent about writing it down...saved me 8 oz of plastic!...lol
  7. Okay...Thanks for the help...I'm going to try tomorrow. I wouldn"t have used salt so Thanks frank...I'll try to post a pic after I work it out!
  8. Does anyone have a formula for RI's color called houdini? It looks pretty similar to watermelon red/black/gold flake but that was too easy...lol and didn't work at all!
  9. Thanks..I appreciate that...I am finding that you need to experiment to really get what you want..which I am also finding is a big part of the fun of it...I'm pretty sure some colors look one way to some and different to others.
  10. Paypal payment sent...Thank You randy!

  12. Randy...I'd like the 2 french fry molds...can you tell me the total shipped and I will paypal you asap
  13. TT, I used the senko formula you posted and got my stik baits to fall exactly the same speed as the original...I did not use any softner because my baits felt pretty much like the original. I think mine even had a bit more "shimmy" to them which is even better! Thanks for the info...I use a lot of these during the year and I am really looking forward to see how they do.
  14. Being new to pouring...I figured a way to contribute would be to post a few observations I made while still in the learning progress. What most of all the experienced guys take as common knowledge, are little things that the new guys still have to learn. I figured I'd write some observations down for anyone else who is just learning like myself. 1. When pouring lighter colors less flake is needed since it shows up a lot more. Darker colors like black need more flake so it's not lost against the black. 2. Write down all your measurements if your experimenting because if you get it to come out just right, you'll want to duplicate the bait later but will need to follow the same ingredients. 3. I have been keeping 1 sample of each bait in a plastic bag along with the formula so later, when I want to make more I have something to reference.
  15. BP...here in NJ, some of our stained water Lakes prefer a Junebug color...but I think your color would be a great alternative! Something different for a lake with a lot of pressure.
  16. I am brand new at this and was wondering if there is a basic formula for making a solid color like black. Is there a certain amount of drops per ounce of plastic? Or do you basically just start adding the drops and stir till you get the desired shade.
  17. I figure it's time for my first real post after lurking and reading for so long. I just started pouring my own soft plastics after reading everything I could find about it. TU has so many tips and tricks but the advice you guys give is invaluable. My first pour was Watermelon red flake senko type worm using a 4" 2 pc mold given to me by my fishing partner and a 5" 2pc mold I bought from Dels. I followed all the steps I learned from everyone here and the finish product seemed near perfect. I was happy with the color and the salt seemed pretty evenly distributed. I figured before I went any further I should test the fall rate against an original to see if I needed to make any adjustments in the amount of salt. My son got a 10 gallon fish tank from a friend for me to use as a test. I dropped an original and my newly poured in the tank and the original fell about 1 1/2 times faster then mine. I tested a few more with pretty much the same results. One of mine fell straight up and down and and literally stood straight up in the tank. I noticed it had an air bubble trapped in the end of it. So now I will try to adjust the amount of salt in order to make my worms fall a little quicker and I will try to figure out how to not have air bubbles when pouring. once I get that down I will try experimenting with colors from the recipes everyone has posted here. I'd like to thank the guys on here for all their advice and hope to be able to contribute once I get better at this.
  18. This is a great tutorial...One thing I would like to say being that I just finished the first process...the key to getting through the first step is to make sure you use a good double stick tape...if the originals don't stick well enough they will move as you pour the plaster in!
