  1. I like it! I couldn't stand the fact i had to read the pages backwards on the old one.If there was 3 pages you'd had to start at page 3 at the bottom and read up....That was confusing for me.
  2. Didn't know that.Thanks for the information.
  3. I have the same fear....which is why i try to buy what i need for the year. Not so much extra line that I'll never use.I really only use Trilene XL & Trilene XT. There's really no telling how long any kind of line has been sitting on the shelves in stores or warehouses either. So this thread brings up a good point. Braided line is the only thing i really don't worry about...if i find braided line on sale I'll stock up on it.
  4. Ahh,you are right.Didn't see the second tip. Thanks MTfishingrods for correcting me.
  5. Try reading that. DG Rod Works All you really need to do.It's very easy,if an idiot like me can do it i'm sure you can do it too. It does change your rod action a little bit,but to be honest not enough. I broke one of mine and now i like it even more.It made the rod action seem like an extra fast instead of fast.I've gotten better hooksets now on the rod. I've heard of people buying 7' rods and breaking the first tip down to 6'9" with a faster tip bend.Sounds stupid when i first heard somebody doing this.I can honestly say i understand why now though. I stock up on the rod repair kits just in case it happens again to another rod.It really isn't that hard.
  6. Coils in line will cause this, causing it to twist while reeling in.It just makes a big mess and knots up inside. If that's the soruce of the problem then your line isn't laying on straight causing it to overlap and grab.Spincasters are known to do this. Best luck i've had was with 6# trilene XL.Anything bigger gave me problems.Like others said don't overfill, that can be one source of the problem. I started fishing with open face spinning reels @ 8yrs old and 25 years later i never looked back at those spincasters...you might want to do the same.
  7. Looks like a great knot and easy enough to tie and remember. Palomar has not failed me yet.
  8. Yup,academy brand only. I fortunately have a great mom who i can send money down to Texas and she'll ship a few back for me. We don't have academy here.
