  1. Well the other rods I have re-done I just was putting guides back in the exact place they were before. Most of the old epoxy did not come off the blank easily and I had to scrape some of it off or sand it off which left places on the blank. My problem this time is I'm re-doing one where a friend wants spiral wrapped micros in place of a regular set of guides so the spacing is going to be different and the blank needs to be perfectly clean.
  2. What is the best way to cleanly remove old epoxy from the guides?
  3. Thanks for all the advice guys! It's been a big help.
  4. Thanks for the help. I did my spacing on the first 2 rods I built by taking a factory rod of the same length and marking where the guides were, and it worked pretty good. I didn't know if the chart would help or not. I'll just save my money. I was really wanting to try the spiral wrap on one of my next rods. I could use some help on that as well.
  5. Also planning on putting them on a cranking blank. Castaway 904 to be exact.
  6. Plan on using Fuji. I need to get a guide chart, but just haven't done it yet.
  7. Is the spacing on them the same as regular guides? I plan on using fuji if that matters. Also I'm asuming that you use more guides because they sit closer to the blank. Sorry for all the questions guys, just trying to learn from the pros.
  8. Who carries it, mudhole? Thanks for the help.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I ended up ordering the Loomis. Never used one and wanted to build one while I could still get my hands on a blank. Thanks for all the help.
  10. I've been using flex coat lite build and like it ok. Just wondering if anyone likes another brand better.
  11. Which would be the better choice? Looking at a 6'6" MH in both. Just wondering which one is lighter and more sensitive
