  1. Hey guy. Verdict is still out on wood usage, but initially using the paulownia. Cut some flat sided cranks out and the wood shapes easily. Been sidetracked with sick child but hope to seal, prime and paint this week. Will post results. Thanks for the info.
  2. My name is Stan from beautiful but COLD middle Tennessee. Married 39 years, 3 children, 8 grandkids. Originally from Mississippi. I'm a retired art driector and graphic designer looking for a new hobby for my "senior" years. Entirely new to this lure making thing so forgive the newbie questions I may have. Have fished most of my life but I am one of those "boatless" fishermen, having never owned a boat. I know....very sad. Grew up fishing farm ponds and rivers with my dad. Looking for a new pastime that I can develop and pass on to these young grandkids. Have had a fully stocked woodworking shop for many years and am very fluent with the airbrush.
  3. Newbie here to the lure making world. I want to try making some flat sided crank baits. I have an ample supply of paulownia, poplar, white pine and various hard woods. What is my best choice to start with? Thanks in advance!
