  1. Also want to add that the 0.5 dd is a custom mold that Brian had made so that bait won't be available anywhere else. I haven't compared side by side but I think the squarebill that cedar run offers is different. his is bigger, closer to a 1.0 size https://fishheadcustomlures.com/point-5-dd-crankbait/ https://fishheadcustomlures.com/point-5-squarebill/
  2. S I bought Dinger baits when Brian was closing last summer. I am slowly working on getting stock of everything he previously offered. the 0.5 squarebill and the 0.5 dd are both in stock now at www.fishheadcustomlures.com
  3. Yes, I am working with all the same suppliers that Dinger used. I am slowly working on bringing in all the same inventory he used to carry. It is a process, but I will get there. Thank you! Looking forward to doing business with you as well
  4. a few of the stencils I use are from anarchy models insane custom stencils whitmore farms and coast airbrush as previously mentioned I also make a lot of my own out of frisket film
  5. Thank you for your order! I hope you are happy with the baits. I would love to hear any feedback once you have a chance to test them out. Eric
  6. I have had some success with glow pigment mixed with transparent base. It is thick so you will have to play around with mixture ratios to be able to spray it. it takes several coats and goes on a little grainy, but the glow is the longest and brightest I have found. Should be able to recharge every 15-20 minutes or so I have not tried to sand it but that might work once your layers are down. You can paint over it also https://www.technoglowproducts.com/green-glow-in-the-dark-powder-1-choice-glow/
  7. thanks for mentioning me! I own Fishheadcustomlures.com, I recently took over for Dinger Baits. Website launched back in August. I am slowly building up inventory. It is a process, but I will eventually have all the same high quality products that Dinger offered in the past. I am doing my best to fill Brian's shoes in terms of customer service. I understand the importance of good communication and timely shipping. I try to respond to messages same day and am I getting orders out in 1-2 days Next week I will have restocks of the Popper, Point5 dd crankbait, and new stock of the S crank ko with holographic foil and 4 and 5 mm split rings. Tracking says these will arrive Monday and hopefully can get them on the site that same day I also have lil john medium divers, 1.5 one knock squarebills in clear and holographic, 1.5 silent squarebills, and P78 medium divers all on order. I will be ordering more stock next week, not sure what that will be yet. Probably restock of other popular items that recently sold out. Most orders are taking 4-6 weeks to ship from the suppliers. The duo style baits (d100 and d120) will be a while as that supplier has a large minimum quantity I am not able to meet yet, but those blanks are high on my priority list Eric
  8. I think it can be done on any style bait. are you looking to have some done?
  9. I painted a few jerkbaits for a buddy recently in a morning dawn pattern I will try and post a pic, and see if i remember how I did it...
  10. Hello! I would like to share with you the news that Dinger Baits is under new ownership, and now goes by Fishhead Custom Lures. I recently bought the company and am in the process of building up inventory. Website launched a couple weeks ago at www.Fishheadcustomlures.com I intend to carry all the same great, high quality products and provide the same great customer service that Dinger Baits was known for. It will take some time for me to have the entire lineup in stock, but I have a decent amount of blanks and eyes to choose from, with more on the way Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, please sign up for the email list for updates. I promise I won't spam you, I haven't sent any emails out as of yet... Please give a follow on social media as I will post updates on there as well: fishhead custom lures on facebook and @fishhead15 on instagram Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you! Eric
  11. Yes, that is the plan. I am working with all the same suppliers that Dinger did, and plan to carry all the same products and maybe a few others if they prove worthy. I paint as well and have been a customer of Dinger for several years, so I know the quality is better and that is one of the reasons I wanted to keep the company going. It will take some time for me to have the full lineup in stock but I will get there. Eric
  12. I will look around and see what I can find. My current catalogs don't mention the wt version so I would have to ask the suppliers. The delta is an amazing place! I need to get back up there, it's been about 15 years since I last fished there
  13. Hi Mark, I don't have any weight transfer squarebills currently. I asked Brian about this and he told me where to get them, but indicated that he felt the 2.5 squarebills I have in stock from another vendor are of much better quality. I didn't know he had previously offered a wt squarebill. If this is something you would be interested in, I can see what it I can do to get some. It would probably depend on quantity
  14. I took over Dinger baits, and have some of the 0.5 squarebills in stock. I also carry 1.5 and 2.5 squarebills. Don't currently have a 1.0 size but I can get that if it is something people would be interested in. https://fishheadcustomlures.com/point-5-squarebill/ thanks Eric
  15. thanks porkchop! that's what I figured. I emailed him, and he is expecting more, just doesn't know when... Eric
  16. That's great! thank you! I can easily get ahold of poly tubing, we have miles of it here are work. Does the bottle have to be glass? I have old createx and wicked paint plastic bottles I could repurpose. the wicked bottles already have the bb inside... I am going to try the alclad though, I can make 1 oz of paint last a long time so Im not too worried about the price. If I can put scales into the chrome I think it will take things to another level! thank you very much for the tips! ill be putting them to work soon Eric
  17. that alclad just might be exactly what I am looking for. thank you! I haven't done anything with lacquer based paints, so ill be reading up on that... when you say thin krylon, how does that work? I have been using a spray can. Are you talking about spraying into a mixing cup and adding thinner before using it in an airbrush? Eric
  18. so many good suggestions, thank you all for chiming in! I will try these out and see what I can make work...I usually do use the search function but it hadn't even crossed my mind when posing this question. I will see what that turns up as well. thank you! Eric
  19. hi, I have been using krylon chrome spraypaint as a base with good results...took some trial and error getting an even coat, but I think I am there... Now I would like to be able to put scale pattern in the chrome, but the spraypaint is too thick and it runs under the scale masking material. does anyone know of chrome colored paint I can use with my airbrush? thanks! Eric
  20. thanks! I'll take a look. everyone has the 2.5 squarebills, but there isn't many options for the deep divers and I have a lot of people interested Eric
  21. Hi, does anybody have a source for 2.5 dd blanks? www.unpaintedlures.com is out of stock and has been for sometime. thanks! Eric
  22. thanks for your replies. I have been using a hole punch and painters tape, but the eyes I have to remove are smaller. I tried tracing a 5 mm split ring and cutting with the exacto knife, but those were too small and I couldn't cut a good circle...ended up with irregular edges. I need to practice or get a sharper blade or both.... the bait is a river2sea S-waver and the eyes are a little bit recessed and at an angle, which made simply prying them out difficult...but, I ended up hitting them with a heat gun for a few seconds on each side to soften the glue and was able to pry them loose that way. have to be careful with this as I noticed the factory paint starting to wrinkle if I held the heat gun in one place too long. Eric
  23. I have a few baits that I want to repaint, and I am wondering if there are any ways to get the factory eyes off the bait? I thought there was a thread about this before, but I cant find it using the search function... I don't care if the eyes get messed up since I plan to replace them anyway. Up to this point i have been covering them with tape, but that doesn't always end up clean. thanks Eric
  24. wow, salty just asked a question, didn't mean to strike a nerve. only wanted clarification on a statement you originally made. I haven't messaged you for tax advice, so I am not sure who that is directed at. I will do my own research, just thought I would get help from fellow builders who have been through it which is what the forums are about...my bad... I am not importing lures, that was the point of my question...and asking questions to make sure I continue to run a legitimate business. but it's all good, I will contact an accountant and see what they know Eric
