  1. im building the lamiglas smb1083m its a 9' one piece and glass rated 1-3 ounces. Ill be using it to throw bombers in inlets and rocky areas. Can anyone recommend guide sizes/spacing for this blank? Im wrapping it spinning for use with a penn 5500 and 30 pound braid. I havent wrapped this blank before so any info would be awesome!
  2. im using krylon crystal clear gloss
  3. thanks for the input guys. I had 4 out of the 5 be successful with the clear coat, but the one wrinkled up. All 5 had both valspar and krylon spray paints just different colors to get the shading down. how do I post pics? Id like to show you guys the paint jobs and see what I can improve on!
  4. Hey guys I have 5 unpainted 5" minnow bodies that I painted with rattle cans and the paint came out perfect. The scales, colors, and shading were perfect on them. I let them dry for a good 15 hours, went back and applied a thin coat of clear coat. The paint instantly wrinkled on them and I am not sure what went wrong. I used krylon plastic primer, krylon spray paint, and some valspar spray paint and I let the lures dry in between coats. What could the problem have been? Did I not let the final coats dry for long enough before applying clear or what?
  5. im going to reseal my molds. I heated the plastic more and did better with my fluke molds...no bubbles at all! But im still having trouble pouring the very thin tails. I almost always have to trim around the tails at the end! My sluggo molds are the only ones that get air pockets and bubbles now. These are the ones I am going to reseal
  6. I cant seem to get my plastic to pour right. Im using saltwater formula plastic and heating it in a microwave in 30-45 second increments until it becomes plastic like. I stir it and then pour it into my sealed POP mold going from one side to the other. Im pouring from a pyrex cup. Im pouring into fluke and sluggo molds. I can seem to get the top to be even on any of the baits, nor can I pour the thin tails of the flukes. If I do get a good pour, I sometimes get air bubbles coming out of the top of my bait after it is poured into the mold. I have tried barely heating it enough to become plastic, and ive tried heating it more. I hope you guys can give me some advice!
  7. what kind of plastic are you guys using to pour swimming baits like the bomber long A and other crankbait types of lures. Ive been pouring soft plastic baits and wanted to venture into the hard plastic stuff!
