  1. Glad I could be of help. Good luck with your lure!!!!
  2. I don't see anything wrong with the way your blades are on the clevis. I have not used the S-clevis when I make my own double tens. When I use the single clevis I will make sure that each end is parallel and bend as needed before I put it on the shaft with the blade. I have heard that the s-clevis can be tricky to get to work correctly. Make sure the 3 parts that go through the shaft are all parallel to each other. Should be able to use a pair of needle nose pliers to do any minor bending that may be needed.
  3. I use Mustad 3551 in size 7/0 for double ten bucktails.
  4. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm on the right track right now and will be able to get that 1 1/2" thickness I'm looking for that I can't find at Lowe's or Home Depot.
  5. I'm starting to make musky crankbaits out of wood. I want to make a bait that is thicker than the lumber I can find at Lowe's or Home Depot. What is the best way of glueing boards together that will be in the water all of the time? I would think wood glue or epoxy would be the answer but I don't know which method would work best. After I glue the boards and plane them to the correct thickness should I try to keep that seam as the centerline of the bait or does that matter? Thanks for the help!
  6. What type of pvc board is best to make a crankbait and where can it be found?
  7. What type of airbrush are you using with powder? Are you just using a hobby sandblaster? When you airbrush with powder do you waste a lot of powder through over spray? I'm not at all familiar with the process of airbrushing powder paint and want to learn more about it! PSV, Is that a dowel you used through the eye on the blade?
  8. Thanks guys for the suggestions. I think that will help me and get my blades looking better!!!
  9. I've just recently started into the realm of powder painting spinner blades. I've used both a fluid bed and dipping the blades in a jar. One problem I've ran into when using forceps to dip the blades is I obviously don't cover that part of the blade. I let the blade cool then reheat and grab a different part of the blade to cover the unpainted part. I've found my forceps stick to the painted area and damage the area I've already painted. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can eliminate this problem and get full paint coverage on my blades.
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure which size pump I have but it has 2 connections on the pump and I teed the hose before going into the fluid bed. It works fine on a 2" bed but doesn't do much on the 3".
  11. I built a 3" fluid bed but am having problems with air flow. What size aquarium pump is everyone using? Thanks for the help!
