    Gold Leaf

I have only posted one reply in the past, but the leaf post grab me. I have normally been a seeker of information and will say everyone who contributes here is awesome. The info is outstanding. I made a few leaf baits awhile back and really enjoyed the process , something different to do. As with a lot of ventures, there was a small learning curve. Check it out .. http://ricksmuskybai...f-finishes.html
  2. For what is worth. My norm has been 14" wood baits. I have been spraying Excel or Wham Bam, both automotive 2part clears. When doing 40 to 50 at a time I spray with an auto touch up gun,HVLP. if it's a few, I use my Badger anthem. They have a tapered needle no size. For my application it comes down to the right amount of reducer being used. The 4 second drip test is a good rule for any mix, clear coats can be over reduced with excellent results. Coverage is best obtained with a wider spray pattern , 75 percent overlap and a wet look to the clear. Depending on the need , pressure goes from 15 to 35 psi. Just started making smaller baits this year and had to get the anthem fine needle setup, works well.
  3. I have only been in TU afew days, but have had a few different brushes.Vodkaman is correct- do the searches so you know.If you plan on using water based paint Iwata has a plastic brush with multiple tips that is pretty good. Paasche,Badger and the rest all have excellent brushes. For price and ease of use I now use the Badger Anthem, cost a little more than a Badger 150 but a lot better brush. Also look into a pressure gauge that can be set and function at 10 to 12 p s i . Have fun, the learning curve hasn't even started yet. From what I have seen and read so far in T U there is a vast amount of help and advice.Pretty cool site! Rick
