  1. Yeap! That's the ones! Thanks!!
  2. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a knock off of the Strike King Wake Shad? I've saw a couple diffrent styles of a wake bait, but would like to find one very similar to the SKWS. Thanks for any direction you can point me in.
  3. Whoops, Sorry about that. I went back and looked at it was the FG shallow divers. I had a brain fart.
  4. I bought some of the LC knock off's from Jann's to test out. They are very nice cranks! Here's the 2 that I painted a while back.
  5. Thanks for the Tips! Does anyone have any pictures of how they cut out a stencil for a Craw Pattern? Do you have a single stencil per side or mutiple stencils to make the left and right segments of the shell at once. Sorry, I know this is a confusing question. I just can't get a stencil fixed to make the proper shading of the shell segments without having a perfectly straight line.
  6. Howdy Guys. I know this has probably been discussed many times before, but I havn't had luck looking through the topics trying to find my answer. So Please bare with me. I'm still very new to the airbrushing. I have attempted to make a 3-D crawfish pattern where the lines are the same on both sides of the lure, but cannot get the lines to look seemless across the back to connect both sides. Mine messed up, so I finally just sprayed a darker color over the back to hide it. Does anyone have any pointers to help me figure this out. It's about got the best of me. I just can't get a stencil to cooperate... and would like to make somthing that is easier to use over and over. Here's a pic of the one I tried. First and only 3-D style craw I have done.
  7. I can jump on the band wagon and say that line twist on a spinning reel will drive a man nuts!! The best way that I have found to spool my spinning reels are to put the line through the last line guide (closest to reel) only, then have someone hold the spool, if you don't have a line station, very close to the line guide. I will make sure the line is coming off the filler spool the same direction that it is going onto my reel. The main key is to make sure you have line tension on the new line going on. If it has slack, it will cause excessive twist. This has worked for me.
  8. Thanks for all the tips guys! Rayburnguy, I'll have to look into that reducer. I wished there was a local place that sold createx items here.
  9. Just wanted to give a Big Thanks to cadman for the build specs on the fluid bed. I built one today and it turned out great. I'm new to this, but what would be the ideal air flow amount? I've been adjusting on the needle valve and had some little "volcanos" which was throwing out paint dust. I turned it down to where they settled down, but wasn't sure of the appropriate range. I'm using a brown paper bag for my screen.
  10. Thanks! I'll keep chuggin along and see if I can't get the hang of it.
  11. Anyone have any pointers for a newbie? Still can't find info Thanks Guys

    Fine Lines

I tried to use the search on the site with no luck, but what air pressure settings and how thin should water based createx be to paint fine lines on plastic cranks? I've got a Capital 2006GF with a 0.25mm tip. (factory tip) I've turned my pressure down below 10 psi and can't get the paint to flow, so I water'd down my paint to flow right, but then it seems to run and blow away when attempting a small line. Any Suggestions? Thanks in Advance! Still Learning.
  14. Thanks BP! I'm learning as I go. I've got about 12 baits painted so far. This is a fun hobby!
  15. I'm very new to airbrushing also, but I've been using a 50/50 mix of distilled water and rubbing alcohol to clean my brushes. I actually run that mix through the brushes every little bit during color changes just to help keep clogs out. I have the airbrush cleaner I soak the parts in every month or so. I don't paint many baits at all, so I don't have to tear it down as often.
