  1. Thanks, that solves that problem.. I know I am asking a lot, but how about some high end photos of the mold making process. Is the crankbait body that you make a copy of another or did you CNC a master and then go from there? Kevin
  2. Your video left me with a bunch of questions as well as some answers. Would you mind posting how you made your figure 8 wire posts, how about just the portion about making the bills? I have been waiting a year to see more since the crankbait bug has bitten hard. I live in Alaska and there are not too many crankbait fisherman where I live, it is hard finding answers to some of the questions that arise when trying to build your own baits. Any and ALL help will be most appreciated. Kevin
  3. During one of many internet searches, I found the advertisement for the "Make your own fishing lures: Plastic lures". It is $37 and I was wondering if anyone here had already purchased the book and what the review might be. Apparently, it is download only, in an e-book format, so checking one out at the library is not an option. Kevin
  4. Anyone want to help update the cookbook. All of the pictures are missing and as a newbie to the painting world, it would be a better resource if it could be fixed. I don't have any expertise to offer, not on this topic at least, not even sure that I should be the one bringing the question up. Kevin
  5. Not sure, both types are pretty thin, some of it came from the local fabric/quilt shop, and the other stuff came from the local hobby shop, feels thinner than paper... Kevin
  6. I have been reading just about every post on this subject and I think most everybody cuts their own with a sharp knife or razor blade. For all those fisherman who have wives that scrapbook, see if they have a "Cricut" or something similar. It is basically a small plotter with a micro blade for the print head. It will cut just about any pattern that is available. It can cut very thick material if you have the larger blade. There are several computer programs that can control the "Cricut" and cut any stencil that you can think of. I have used it to cut gills, fins and scale patterns out of mylar, plastic film and transparencies. I am still experimenting with creating different scale patterns combined with the right materials, but the gills and fins turn out just fine. The programs that I use to cut the stencils are "Make the Cut" and "Inkscape". These are just the ones that I use. There are others that are available, but I have not tried them. Anyways, if anyone has a stencil they want to try, but have not been able to cut out with good results, give me a holler and see what can be done. Kevin
  7. What do you use to replicate the chrome finish on your lures?

    Thanks,
