  1. Now that was a reply lol. Well I guess they all do come off i would just like them to last a day. Where have you guys been getting your d2t 30 min cause everywhere i use to get it has stopped selling it. Thanks PSV and Cadman.

  2. So i've been making a ton of jigs lately and i just cant find a top coat that will last when fished on rocks. They all chip/peel/ or turn yellowish. Also i just dont like powder paint i cant get custom enough colors. So i was wondering if any of you guys new a really good top coat.

  3. Has anyone else tested the spinning rod made for shakey head fishing? If you have I'm curious to if you have the same opinion as me or maybe i've just become picky. I got it for my birthday and i got it in the mail and felt the action and from my rod building experience if felt like absolute s*** . I decided to give it a try on the water anyway and it has some of the most amazing feel I've ever had in my hand. But the down side to it is it was a tad too long for skipping shakeys under docks, and also the backbone is terrible no matter how hard I hit the fish. I guess i just wanted to see what you all thought and also warn people against.

  4. Hey guys i've been playing around making my own jigs for a while. Now i wanna try useing wire to tie the skirts on but i have no idea how to go about it. My dad said hes tried with no success and that the wire always cut the silicone. So what kind of wire do i need thats strong and i can work with it easily. Also how do you tie it off without leaving some wire hanging off. If theres a video or something please send me the link thanks!

    Anybody?

  5. Is there anyone who uses brushes to paint hardbaits? I was just wondering because it looks like there are areas and designs on some custom painted crankbaits that I have seen that look that it would be almost impossible to airbrush them. Am I wrong or are there some baits that are brushed only?

Well i don't use brush but i do use paint markers for fine little details there awsome and give your baits some more depth after you clear coat them i think you should give em a try.

  7. yay.gif Thank the good lord! Ok guys all my paint is ruined but good news is it was crappy paint what kind should i buy i dont know too much about paints i have a paasche airbrush set not top of the line but good enough. Anyway whats the best stuff for me I love painting and am dyeing to get some new stuff now i have an excuse.

  8. It would depend on your skills and what you want to use the boat for in it's finished form! I think a jon boat would be easy for a build but I also have two fiberglass boats as well and they aren't bad either! Just different ways to work on these to types of boats. Jon boat would probably be the less expensive of the two.

Well it would be for bass fishing pretty much but i decently handy and willing to learn lol. I think i will go with the john boat does anyone have a suggestion of what size i should get height and width wise

  9. Just like BR said it depends on what your making or what you wish to make. If you want to paint crankbaits you need an air brush (the cheapest is a paasche) and a compressor you need to build a spray booth you need paints a clear coat, glitter if you like glitter on them i suggest the absolute smallest glitter you can find, paint thinner, masking tape to make designs on the bait, and you need a drying wheel

If you want to make jigs i like to use barlowstackle.com hes got great deals on shipping. For getting started with jigs you need some clean lead a lead pot i suggest a Lees you need a flux, gloves!!, a mold depending on what you use say a jig mold. With a jig mold you need the weed gaurds, hooks that fit the mold, make sure if you get a jig mold it has base hole pins its a pain without them, and powder paint you 100% need unless you want to air brush

I dont kno much about soft plastics so someone else will have to fill you in.

If you want to learn about what you need for rod building just PM or E-mail me.

Hope you get an idea of what you need from this.
