I haven't tried that clear coat yet, but your bait still looks good. I have only used e-tex and I like it. I wish I could find a spray on super hard clear coat. That would save a lot of time, but I just turn on the I-pod and listen to some Frank Marino, Via, Satch or Zappa and the hours fly by.

  2. Thanks, I just got my copy today and was floored. The baits I posted here where failures. They look good, but they didn't perform, but that's how I figure my baits out. Some times they work great straight out of the shop and other times they go into my failure file box. This is my second bait with these scales thanks to Solarfalls. It was his tutorial that helped me complete this scale paturn, thanks again Solarfall. The first one is being fished and it's in my boat. I'll have to take a picture of it before I beat it up to bad.

  3. Thanks again for posting these great pic's. I tryed your scale pattern today and complemented my bait with your fin trick too. It came out perty cool. I will imstall a lip and clear coat it. I'll post a pic of it when it's completed. The paint job was completely inspired from you and your baits. And it was your tutorial that helped me out. Thanks

  4. Looks great to me. What brand and exact color of paint did you use It looks like maybe two colors. White first and then light green, then the dark green markings and a dark green back? Are you using one color of green and just appling it very lightly for the light affect and a little heavier for the dark?

  5. I made the giand deep diving flat sided, coffen lip crank bait. It's 5.5 long and 2" tall and 3/4" thick. I had to put some weight in the belly. The wobble with this bait is unreal. I can't wait to hook up a hog on it. The little lipless bait is a LuckyCraft D10. I put the D10 next to my new crank bait so you can see the size of my bait.

  6. Beautiful bait!! I have a couple of questions. How do you go about painting the fin? Do you have a stamp or a templet? Also, is the belly of the bait weighted and if so, what kind of weight and where is the placement and why? The reason I'm asking is I am making a 5.5" flat sided deep diving crank bait out of Poplar. I put it in the pool and it floated on it side like a flat board. I then added .02 of lead in the belly and now she sits real nice in the water. Any information would be helpfull.

    Thanks
