Can anyone help me find the right color on the top back/head part of these fish, I've been looking and mixing my own colors to match it but so far it's not close enough
I was thinking the same Createx, metallic gold....

I found a video on youtube and the guy is making swimbaits. Anyway, he mentioned this web site for his materials for creating molds and casting materials for creating swimbaits for pike fishing!

On the subject of color, we all know that bass living deep develop a lighter color, and it takes them a while to get darker when they come up shallow.
We all know that nature does stuff for a reason.
I'm sure this is an adaptation to the lower light penetration at depth. It must help them be harder to see.
So I wonder if their eyes adjust, too, to make them more successful hunters in low light. To me, that would be just as helpful as the loss of pigment in their skins.
If their vision does adapt, maybe they are much more sensitive to red when they first move shallow, before their eyes readjust to the shallow water light penetration, and that's why it's such a good late winter/early spring color.
Great analysis Mark! Never thought about that......

Beautiful wraps! The last two pics with the grips, is that an epoxy/thread ramp instead of using winding checks?

CM, go w/a wide gap hook for casting or flipping, just make sure you use a hook that is a heavy wire flip hook, nothing worse than a big fish straightening out a light wire hook in heavy cover. I use a 730 eagle claw or any other hook brand that can be used in place of the 730.

Looking to see if this is doable? Something like you see on a Norman Gel-Coat.
Thanks for any info.

DTL, I use two different rods, one for grass and one for trees. The grass rod is a 7' Hvy loomis crankin rod, for tree fishing it's a 7' Hvy Lami Glass. The Loomis can snap grass off the crank(DD22), while the lami is too parabolic for grass fishing, it shines for crankin trees w/enough flex to prevent tearing the hooks out of a fish that hits close to the boat in shallow water situations. Hope this helps!

Looking for the large figure 8 line ties like the ones found on the large mudbugs! I have order the ones sold by Barlows, Stamina and Netcraft and none are close to the size on the 1 oz mudbug. I even mailed PRADCO and they could not help me! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
