had to have been the ratio, i was in a hurry and didnt use my measuring mixing cups. im running low but i guess i will have to use one now and ill just throw a second coat on all of them.
-
i put a coat on 4 cranks and they came out fine, did a second batch and the 2 i put the Etex on are still tacky. couple questions....
1) will a second coat affect the baits movement?
2) is it safe to add a coat on top of the coat that is tacky?
i have read of people doing 2 coats, but i know that most of those people were using them on gliders so the action really wouldnt be messed up that much. these cranks are 1.5 KO if it helps.

i have been having issues with my airbrush. long story short is basically wants to do the splatter effect ALL THE TIME. i have tried thinning the paint more, leaving it thick, turning the preassure on the compressor up, turning it down. i have a water seperator in line right at the compressor....that never has any water in it... one thing i have noticed is at the tip of the airbrush. my tip is a 2 part tip...little part that the needle pokes out of then a bigger part that holds the brass tip inside. right now im using a 5 tip and needle as i believe while i was cleaning i threw away my 3.anyway the tip. where i tighten the big tip to the brush i have been getting watery bubbles i cant tighten it down any more. after work im going to try to get some teflon tape on there and hope it doesnt get in the way of the paint. just not sure what to do at this point. i have done several good cleanings, looked inside and there are no blockages. any ideas?

THIS ONE!!!!!! http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.cfm/molds/plastic-molds/swim-baits/5x885:2339
BAD @$$ lil swimbait. easy to pour, catches nice fish. this thing is a blast. makes great looking baits with some awesome colors. and then looks great in the water and catches them from 8" plus.
-
post some pics of the ones you are looking at.
-
NICE. i would like to second the posting of a how too
-
for the most part all the ones i have used seem to floar pretty much the same. you can always buy floating bubbles at the sake of chaning the color. (kriet squirrel tail) it doesnt bother me. so i use them.
-
i got mine from Lure Craft.

i pour some 4.75" swimbaits. 1, 2, and 3 color. mainly 2 color. 90% of the time i dont use anything but color and glitter. but on some batches i put some salt in them to help the bait sink a little faster. i dont think salt nor scent is needed. the bait is on the move. it more of a raction bait than a sit and soak bait.

Like the material used for motherboards in computers???
yep. alot of people use that material for lips on crankbaits.
the plexi glass i have thought of havent truied it yet, but i have thought about it.

go to bearsbaits.com and check out the colorants and look at lite melon. i'm pretty sure that's all i put in that one. if i added anything else it would have been a drop of rootbeer. but i think with the salt and flake the light melon is all i used.
pouring plastic sheets of plastisol?

We have a huge cookie sheet but it's thick. I would get some small cheap ones and put them on a griddle and pour on that. They will be thin metal so heated quickly and higher temp and small so your work time is extended.
