  1. Picture did not upload the first time.
  2. i cast a couple of these out of aluminum in a home made foundry. I made the pattern out of 3/8" plywood and fillete the corners with bondo. I presed the sand around it in the two peice mold box, opened it, removed the pattern then poured the Aluminum. There is not an electric trolling motor made that could break this. I bolted a 1/2" plywood face on it so the motor would not vibrate loose.
  3. Is their a standard size sprue and vent for aluminum molds used to make stick baits and 5" curley tail worms? I thought about cutting myself a mold or two the next time I have some free machine time at my shop but would not know where to start designing it. I would probably make a ten cavity two peice mold out of 6061 Al with two location pins. I have made some bullet molds and have done a lot of aluminum sand casting as a hobby over the years so I have an idea about casting stuff in general. I posted a kayak mold on the trade section so i may be able to trade for a mold instead of making one but making one sounds fun. Machine size, tooling and programming will not be an issue. Thanks in advance.
