    Peanut Head Jig

Nice looking jig. What color is that skirt called?
  2. I'd like to start a tackle business to sell product for an additional income stream.
  3. I was referring to the latter and did ask Do-it if they would cut a mold w/out the weedguard. The response that I received suggested that I buy a blank and have a local CNC shop cut the molds w/out the weedguard for me. I'm assuming from this, they are alright with me doing so. I will ask again. This is why I asked if any of you have done so. I like the head design and think it would make a good spinnerbait/chatterbait style head. Cadman the paint job in your profile picture looks great. Do you custom paint for others or just yourself? What are your thoughts on the pricing I've received on the SB heads? Do you think it is high? Should I keep looking and shoot for something lower? Any info would help. Tommy
  4. Sounds like a winner. Has anyone had this mold custom made to be poured w/out the fiberguard?
  5. These are some of the reasons I was asking. I've found a custom outfit that can pour/paint the head w/the size wire and hooks that I want for around $1.65 each. Total cost of lure will vary depending on the skirts and blades I decide to use but I was just curious if this was a descent price for the above..?? The unit price for the heads seem a little higher than if I were to pour them myself but am wondering if the saved time would be worth it..?? Eventually, I would like to do this in house but would like to generate some revenue to pay for the equipment and supplies first. Any thoughts on that price range? Thanks for all the help and any more info is greatly appreciated. Tommy
  6. Thanks Bob, I appreciate the response. Anyone else out there have any info they are willing to share? Any info is greatly appreciated. Tommy
  7. Hey guys, I have a few questions regarding spinnerbaits or wirebaits for that matter. I'm considering the idea of a side business and would like to offer SBs, BBs, jigs, and vibrating jigs, maybe even some soft plastics later down the road. 1. What is a general cost margin/difference between pouring/painting your own heads vs. buying them already poured and painted? 2. What would you consider a reasonable cost/each in materials and time to paint? 3. What would you consider a reasonable cost/each if you were to buy them already poured and painted? 4. What would you consider the pros and cons to R-bend vs. Twisted-eye? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tommy
  8. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll give these suggestions a try.
  9. Thanks for the info. I've been considering the thought of pouring these heads for a vibrating/chattering style bait w/a round bend hook. the only thing I need to figure out now is how to pour the heads w/out the weedguard hole...?? Any suggestions?
  10. Hey there guys, I've been reading the forum tips for quite some time now and thought it was time to join. I appreciate all of the great info that has been provided. It really makes a big difference to have a forum full of good people willing to help out. I have a question regarding frogs; Do any of you pour your frogs to float? If so, what type of plastic are you using (hard, soft, medium)? Do you add any floating material to the plastic to help with this? I don't have a problem with my pours as they are but the frogs will sink if I let them sit. I would like to if at all possible pour some that will float if left alone. Thanks in advance, Tommy
  11. Elken, were you able to pour this w/out any modifications to the mold?
