  1. WHATS GOING ON Dont most of you live in USA. Dont you have the best freedom of speach laws in the world ??? Its not slander if its true. I think i waited over 8 months for some custom molds off Dell But he does make some AWSOME molds. Up to you whether or not you want to wait a long time or not That why my next 4 differnt custom molds went to another member on this forum (feel free to give yourself a plugg buddy ) I had them all. Yep 4 different designs in under a month. Shame on the mods if they edit any more posts on this matter. Which i have seen them do in the past I would be disgusted to see them put $$$$$ (sponsership) in frount of their members by not allowing others to know what they are getting into As i said before Dell molds are top quality. Just be dont be surprised if you have to wait a long time for them
  2. Did any more come out of the Gelatine test. I constantly get asked if i can make GULP lures but so far i have been unable to find any info about what is used to make so called "bio Baits"
  3. Is anyone having bubble issues with the Ultra-sol medium. I use a microwave and am looking at a new suplier but miro-bubbles are my pet hate.
  4. Hmm cant work out how to put it in my sig. My site is www.lurehq.com.au Are you Tiger Soft plastics? Sorry mods i know you dont like links to other sites but i cant work out how to put it in my sig. Please remove this post if you feel the need.
  5. Hey mick. I only just recived the molds so i havnt released it yet. Still a long way off having the molds pay for themselves but hopefully these new lures that are complete customs will turn things around. Check my sig for my website and forum
  6. Im not a huge in posting up my design process. However Vodkaman and Bob deserve some publicity for thier incredible work.. Around 6 months ago i decided it ws time to design 3 new lures. After making some rough drawings i conatcted Dave (VodkaMan) and asked if he would be willing to help "CAD" them up for me. Dave was more than willing to help and his price is even more attractive than his work Dave was extremely patient and kind enough to make on average around 11 small design changes. Each time i asked him to change something i would have the new drawings in no time. Im sure he must be sick of how padantic i am One of the drawings was sent off to a known mold maker and a price was aggred on. Custom molds arnt cheap but at the same time i thought the prices were reasonable considering i was getting custom product that no-one else has. I was planing on getting this mold maker to do all 3 designs but after waiting months and months i decieded to look elsewhere. Still yet to recive my molds I then contacted Bob and asked him if he was interested in doing the 2 other designs. He aggreed as long as they are completly custom as he doesnt want any legal issues. Luckly all my designs are my own not copies. Dave sent Bob the drawings and a Quote was drawn up. His price was very fair and he started straight away. What impressed me most with Bob is that he keeps in contact with you during the whole process. Your not left wondering if he hs started or whats holding him up. Any little changes he made, he contacted me straight away. After only a few weeks i recived 2 of 4 the molds. The quality is just as good as my other molds and all shoot perfectly Bob was also kind enough to include a large injector which allows me to shoot twice as many molds and works great. So if your thinking about getting into custom lures i highly recomend you contact Vodkaman And Bob Here is the 2 designs in all their glory
  7. Maybe this isnt big deal for you knifemaker however for thoose of us who do this for more than just a hobby it is quite significant. I have a fairly large array of molds and often end up wasting time by being to short on shooting the last mold meaning wasted time and materials. A bigger injector will certainly come in handy when doing large orders with multiple molds. Plus its more than that. Im pretty sure you would be pissed off if you bought a packet of plastics that claimed to be a pack of 12 yet they only had 9. As consumers we deserve the right to know we are getting what we pay for.
  8. Im not sure what its like in the USA. But here in Australia there is alot of product loyalty and if someone has clearly copied your design they will suport the origional. Customeres dont mind paying if they know what they are getting. Market your lures well. Market the fact they are "Custom desinged" for the fish in your area. Market that they are hand made and not made in china Treat your customers right, market your lures at a price where its not profitable for another company to come in over the top. Then you shouldnt really have an issue. Fishing lures are all fads. Idd rather spend my money developing new lures than protecting the ones i currently have. Dont bring them all out at once. That way if someone does copy your design you can release the new desgin Ie: Our first lure was so sucsessfull that now everyone is copying it. Grab our new lure that is sure to be the next big thing. Can also use it to hype up your new desgin before you release it People love controversy so use that to your advantage Idd be flatered if someone copied something i my design. JMO
  9. correct me if im wrong. But i thought a pattent was only legal in the contry it was issued. I have created a few designs but have no intention on wasting money on a pattent. For one china will just copy it no matter if you hyave a pattent or not. And 2 it wouldnt be worth the money going to court.

    Scent

Very disapointed with Bears shrimp scent. Smeels nothing like shrimp or any other shrimp scent. Smells like rancid pottato chips. Havnt tried anyy other scents. I now make my own scent that my customers love. Get pure aniseed oil. Put it in a bottle and add heaps of ground coffee, Leave this for a week before draining the oil. Water down you scent with worm oil. I use a 5.1 ratio I also found a coffee fragrence i have started to add for a bit more coffee smell Best thing is you smell like coffee and licorish after fishing/pouring
  11. Guess what i just found http://www.exportbureau.com/website.html?u=23160&url=www.lures.cn
  12. made out of pure lead is perfect weight. Thats about 1/26 according to my calculations.
  13. You are a genuis I looked everywhere but couldnt find a weight
  14. Here are a few different types of jig heads that are used The first is only 1/42 and is Is called a Hidden Weight System (HWS) The beauty about these is that they change the CoG and help the lure fall more horizontally which depicts a more natural presentation. Next is the most comonly used type of jig head. While this one is only 1/24 they make them all the way up to 1 1/2 once like this Next is a sort of hybrid of the two this one is around 1/30 Last is the HWS jig rigged with one of my 3' bream worms. The ribbed lead is the best method of holding the lure and most manufactures use this method. All the hooks are the same size 30mm long, 4.5mm from centre of eye to bend in the hook. and 12mm high. The two option i see available is 1. use the HWS jigs and attach a plastic bid 2. make the bib and ribed section all out of lead and cast the whole thing. I think 2 will be better as they will all be the same and if the plastic bib isnt put on strait the lure wont swim right
