    Mold

You're not bad mouthing Delw he always seems to be too busy doing nothing! I had the same issue a few years back he got me all excited about the custom mold I wanted and I sent him all the ideas and specs and then never heard back from him.... If he is always busy where is all of his new products? Also why does it take so long for him to make/ship molds from his website? I would try Bears and Bass tackle the have the best customer service around in the fishing lure mold business.....
  2. Yea it swells when it interacts with H2O, but our plastic is not H2O or water based....... So the same properties make it swell/grown with the interaction with water, should make the plastic create a super stretching bond between the plastic molecules.. At least it sounds good in theroy..?
  3. Can I ask how are you going about scanning it? Is it the mold maker doing it or you using a seperate source? Also once scanned does it put it into autocad or another program?
  4. Oooch, and that's why I always wear pants when pouring plastics! You'll be back to pouring in no time, unless infection kicks in.?! Just post thoose pics in "Don'ts for Newbies" _Get Well_
  5. I'll Let you know if I receive any letter from strike king or z man fishing if that happens, I'll know I cracked the code!
  6. Hey guy I read this article and got to thinking. What would happen if we mix plastisol and crystal gel polymer together. I believe that crystal gel polymer is or close to the same stuff that baby diapers are filled with. http://www.texs.com/magazine/archive_detail.php?Key=texas-bass-fishing&ArticleID=58 Any thoughts? Just trying to think outside of the box. I am the same guy that thought adding mineral oil to the plastic would do something similar, so take it easy on me. -Jason-
  7. Awesome input from all of you guys! Thanks
  8. Very true. But it was more of a what if and how too question. Just in case I got big enough....
  9. So far I'm going down the right path, I got my custom molds, now how do I go about finding new or better products to make them with? Can I get a custom plastic mixture or compounds?
  10. Does anyone know of they make different sizes of the floating additive?
  11. What can be done to cover your assets and your original ideas? Of course I know patents and trade marks. Is there anything else that can be done until then? I seem to remember in a college class that you could have your ideas, drawings, prototypes and ect. And then package all of it then have it certified mailed to your self and that cover somewhat and keep all of it sealed until needed. I don't know if this is true or not though.
  12. Who here has a part time plastic business meaning you have another full time job and do plastics on the side to make extra money.? I was wondering because it seems really difficult to make a full time job out of soft plastic baits. Who here has had money success with a part time and or a full time soft plastic business? Also has anyone here or know of anyone who started small then blew up with success or been bought out by a larger company? I seem to remember the money swim bait started off small then was bought out by a larger company, also does being bought out mean making money?

Nice paint job, but if the fish can't see it they cant bite it!
  14. I was honestly just playing around with you, and it's going to take more than a day to search through the forum. Once you read all of the material you will think you will have more answers than than questions, but that's the case you will have more questions than you ever thought. Like they say too much knowledge and information can be dangerous! Good luck.
  15. Nice try Buddy! No easy answers here, do some searching and you will find all your answers. A easy button is just a novelty item they sell at Staples......
  16. What's my options for molds for lead jigs and for pouring my own swim bait hooks and such. I'm looking for custom work. The only company I can find is Shawn Collins but having contacting issues. I know this isn't a soft plastic topic but you guys know you molds.
  17. I'm finally caving in and buying 10 more molds! I know, I know it's about time. I'm 27 years old and still think I know everything. Thanks for the input. Maybe next time I can post one man and 10 molds!!!
  18. Bob I meant nothing by that at all. I wish there was more companies than we have now so that I would have more options in general. I believe that one can Never have to many options. I guess I've been watching too much History and Discovery channel tv and see what a industry power house we Use to be. All I was trying to do was encourage more people and companies to bring us more options. I'm the kind of guy that when I go shopping for mustard I like to have a lot of choices and multiple options, such as honey, spicy, brown. I do appreciate your advice. I guess the doesn't play with others came out on that last reply. Ha
  19. I wish I had more injection options and companies producing injection/pouring equipment.
  20. Anyone going to Icast 2012 in Orlando, FL?
  21. It seems like almost a year ago there was talk about a injection machine coming from lure works, any recent news on that?
  22. Well this this topic is definitely getting deleted.!!! Ha ha but I agree with Frank. I enjoy and respect Franks and Bobs opinions because is seems like they have no strings attached or in bed with any particular source. Being a newbie and starting off in the plastic world we need these guys to help the smaller guys with the lack of knowledge to gain more information. So thank you. Just my two cents.
  23. Haha I got your back Bob. Just remember anyone with keyboard can post on a forum, no matter what end of the body they speak from.
