  1. I was wondering if you guys had any tips and hints on 1 man 1 mold lure production. Last year I had a custom two piece mold made which I had designed and created and then had a professional make it out of aluminum. I only have a one single cavity of my special, I mean custom mold. I know I can only go so fast considering buy any help on making lure production go faster and smoother would be appreciated. I know everyone started small but how did you do it
  2. I have also done a ton of online searching for the elastic plastic without any results. Until two days ago while searching for something completly different I found where you could buy a sample piece that was already formed at Iventables.com and I later called the internet comapany. I spoke to Phil which told me that have have been tryin to figure the secret formula out for almost two years now. He did give me a company in Thialand that makes it but he is uncertain about the price and quailty of purchasing. I guess the dilema is the formula is the exact same when producing the plastic. He did tell me it was rumored that if you have this plstic you can rebreak it down with toluene and then inject or pour it again and then when the toluene evaporates it will be good as new. I haven't tried this yet though. The compay that makes the elastic plastic is kraton.com Hope it helps and keep me informed.... Jlure
  3. I sucessfully made a "swim hook," all I did was glue a bill/lip to a jig hook. The lure had some action to it but not enough. Do I need to make the lip bigger, wider, or deeper? Also the lure dives about four to six feet deep, but I want it to only dive less than a foot. Any suggestions?
  4. Well I was thinking I could make a hard cast so I can make multiple rtv molds with the hard cast. Another thing I wanted to experiment with is making a hard swim bait with the same two piece aluminum soft plastic mold... Vodkaman: Do you think I can inject plaster of paris in the mold? Have you done this before, any tips?
  5. Has anyone attempted or successfully made a hard cast using resin or another hard casting type of material with a two piece aluminum injection mold in order to have a hard casting? If so, what did you use and how did you do it?
  6. Hey any of you guys have pictures to go with your ideas? I've been trying and trying without any luck. I have made some "swimbait hooks" but the the entire lure spins in a circle, when trying to get it to go left and right. What weight should I be using? What angle should I place the bill/lip at? Also where should the eye of the hook be located? What is the most important thing when doing this project.
  7. Hey guys I have a a custom two piece RTV lizard lure I made and has been turning out amazing. I now want to give it action I want to create a swim/crank bait action without changing the lizard mold. I was thinking of adding a plastic lip/bill to give it the action. Has anyone tried this before or have any tips?

I just got a lizard mold and was wondering what was everyone's favorite color to use or what color combos were a good combination.
  9. Okay so I did alot of research and searching all over the web and hours of google searching. I found nothing at all........ What I did find is the secret has something to do with corn starch and/or gelatin, and is similiar to making "gummy worms". So I was wondering if any of you had any ideas. What I think i'm gonna try to do is make gummy worms, but substitute the water in the recipe with vegetable oil just to see what happens. Has anyone ever tried to experiment with their own biodegradable lures?
  10. Strange looking bait but at the same time very awsome!! Nice job. E.T. PHONE HOME
  11. Hey mjonez23 I have thought the same thing. I started making a realistic looking turtle out of scupley but have not finished yet but plan on making a rtv mold somtime in the near future. 14. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find a supplier for bio-degradable plastic or some type of material that is biodegradable and can be used for soft plastic applications? After doing a search for biodegrable soft plastic, I came up with half a dozen companies that sold this type of product. Here is an article I found about the need for biodegradable lures. http://www.projo.com/outdoors/content/sp_outdoor_notes_18_01-18-10_7KH449M_v18.36f526f.html
