  1. Hey guys, was hoping for some help with a strange problem.

We have heads that are made with lead alloy from a spincast machine.

No matter what we do - we are getting weird like fish eye look on the heads. it looks like little salt dots on the heads.

Absolutely no issues when hand pouring pure soft lead. None at all. only an issue with these spincast heads.

Any way to fix this, very frustrated at this point!

    Thank you

  2. Hey guys!

Been head scratching on a faster way to powder paint lots of heads at once other than just 1 at  time.

Over time, do any of you have some ideas on speeding up the powder paint process?

Pics or ideas would be great! - just been chewing on some ideas

    thank you!

  3. Hey guys, need some 9'' spincast molds made.

I know of 1 or 2 options but they can't do the turnaround, they are too busy.

Anyone willing to share some people that could help me out with it?

Thanks for any help or direction!

Cut one out and see if it actually changed colors. the purple hue is gonna mask any glitter. Not necessarily change it.

when I first add the glitter and shoot the first few baits the glitter is fine.... 10 min into the batch its goes down hill and half look blue and half still green and then about 15 more min later its all like an emerald blue and no green to it

All while keeping very close attention to temp and making sure I'm shooting at 305 so no where near burning or scorch

  5. Hey Everyone

Quick question for some help - I use Spike it Junebug and Spike it Kelly Green Flake and the flake turns blue!

Any help with this? I Keep a very close eye on temp as well.

When I use the Kelly green in our  watermelon candy and GP Candy I have no issues just with the junebug dye.. any suggestions? Is the problem the dye or the glitter or both lol ?

    Thanks for any input!

  6. Hi Rupert

Yup, Ive got that number also.. been calling/txting  and leaving messages since Feb 17

    Ill call ya again

Thanks everyone else for the comments, glad to hear their still going strong just started to get concerned

  7. your best route is to google search - stock clamshells and go from there. its a pain looking through all the measurements but most with send samples to make sure they'll work

Theres a lot of companies and options out there but they won't be thermo formed around the bait. it'll be a square or rectangle shell to put them in.

Custom formed will cost you at least $10,000 after mold fees, and meeting the MOQ

  8. Interesting Monte! Im still on the hunt for a purple glitter that doesn't effect the plastic. Im happy with all other colors i have but purple from different suppliers just has become a headache! first 10 baits in the batch look great, then its starts to change the hue of the bait as I continue on the batch. Maybe Ill try the Michaels kind.

Monte Have you done larger batches with it? Like 12+ cups ?

  9. Ya, They feel Great for the 1st 8months but noticed after that they really really firm up and not sure why. and at that time they start to take over that strong chemical smell

just was seeing if anyone else is noticing this as well or has an answer to why

  10. As Ive used MF for years I have a question with an observation....

After baits are made for about a year old they are oily but more so of what Ive noticed they take on a plastic chemical smell and also seem much more firm then they're original softness from before.

Is this something you guys have noticed?

I don't like that the firmness seems to change and also takes on a chemical smell to them

Again these are on baits that were produced over a 8 months ago but less than 2 yrs old.

    Thanks for any input!

  11. Thanks DaveMc! I see how that works, so how exactly are you removing the lids to the drums?

Obviously when they arrive they have the 2" bung hole near the edge and a 1" bung hole for venting but thats it. Id love to know an easy way to remove the sealed lid entirely like it looks like you have

  12. Hey Guys!

Those of you who use drums of plastic I need some advice please!

I currently use a company that offers drums but have extremely minimal hard packing. Im considering switching to another company for much better pricing but has been known for hard packing over time.

My question is, how do you guys that buy drums keep the plastic evenly mixed so you don't get inconsistent baits throughout when hard packing can be an issue through a 2" bung hole.

    Thank you for any help!
