  1. do you think it would be possible to add the powder paint to soft plastic? that could be kind of neat.
  2. got my paint today! thanks again! they look great!
  3. i've been interested in uv additives a good bit lately and wonder how helpful they were. i was just considering getting some of the uv blast powder paint and coating some buzzbait heads and possibly some spinner blades. is uv blast the only thing available on the market? i saw a spray called fool a fish but other than that it seems theres no other options.
  4. i live on a stretch of river that has a completely untouched carp population. its a very popular smallmouth bass fishery but the carp are only caught accidentally. i've tried a few doughballs with no success, next year i'm going to order some boilies and hair rigs from the uk to see if that helps me catch them. we see extremely large carp all the time, and when we catfish on the river at night you can hear them splashing all night. it's unnerving too because it sounds like a large person doing a cannonball. for the longest time we'd just write it off as sasquatches messing around then somebody told me carp jump alot at night. All that being said, i've caught a few with just regular worms, and three with a rebel tiny wee craw. further downriver in the sticks the rednecks have a really weird method of finding carp. when they catch a carp they tie an inflated balloon around it with some thread then follow the balloon around and cast towards it, they claim it works like a charm but it could also just be some good old boys pulling my leg. either way it made me laugh. does anyone know if you can fish for carp at night? during the summer i do a ton of smallie/catfishing at night, i'd set up a carp rig if i thought they would eat it.
  5. this is a really good idea that im gonna give a shot bc it could be a good work around for my lack of painting supplies/talent for painting! any advice as to what kind of glue and varnish to use?
  6. using live goldfish as bait is definately illegal in md. i used them once in a private pond and it worked really well, i think it had to do with how visible they were in the really clear water on a sunny day. of the five i used none lasted longer than a minute or so, most of them were eaten as soon as they hit the water. of course this is on a private bass fishing pond with tons of bass and competition. they did get eaten faster than regular minnows and worms tho.
  7. i meant the powder paints that you use for lead jigs etc, i have been making buzzbaits and spinners for a while now and have amassed a pretty good collection. thanks for the info tho! i've been thinking of pouring plastic and have been reading this forumn pretty extensively before i give it a shot, this thread is a lifesaver tho since it dispelled some notions i had immediately! thanks again!
  8. since this is the good newbie thread i have to ask, What does PoP mean? and also can you use powder paints in hot plastic?
