If you look carefully at the belly you can see a slight irregularity behind the first hook where I added more weight and touched it up with nail polish.

I weighted them lightly, using different weights each. Adding more weight helped but needed more weight. They don't roll per se, more along the lines of swimming upside down. They swim so well upside down that I thought they were working until I saw them "swimming" beside the boat.

Really like this pattern, it remineds me of something that would be found in the ocean. Messed up an the scale as you can see from the markings of the mesh, I'd like to do this consitantly as it works but its a bit to high risk. All of these are prototypes, can't recall which works the best. All work but are limited to slower retrieves (which is fine for fall) or else they will flip upside down. Thinking of adding a hanger to the lip so I can then troll these fast in the summer.

I was painting this and kept thinking that this didn't look good, added the finishing tuches and turns out I was wrong I do like it. All of these are prototypes, can't recall which works the best. All work but are limited to slower retrieves (which is fine for fall) or else they will flip upside down. Thinking of adding a hanger to the lip so I can then troll these fast in the summer.

Couldn't get a good picture given the lighting to do this justice, really liked the way this futurned out. All of these are prototypes, can't recall which works the best. All work but are limited to slower retrieves (which is fine for fall) or else they will flip upside down. Thinking of adding a hanger to the lip so I can then troll these fast in the summer.

Quick n Diirty, colour pattern designed for resualts. All of these are prototypes, can't recall which works the best. All work but are limited to slower retrieves (which is fine for fall) or else they will flip upside down. Thinking of adding a hanger to the lip so I can then troll these fast in the summer.

Glides to the right 75% of the time (might be a good thing). Other than that it was a quick and dirty job but it turned out satisfactory.
  8. sauger9\"Spruce

Needs some extra weight to make it work, its a prototype.

This was fun to paint. Messed up expoxing the back spinning tail as I ripped off some paint/top coat while removing the hanger. Used some super glue for a quick fix but lost the would have been perfect finsih. As with my other one need to perfect the cup, perhaps slicing it into the wood instead of screws.

Not my favorite work, wanted these colours but didn't have a very insperational way to combine them. Baby duck inspired with pearl because everythings better with pearl. Need to perfect the cup, it works but requires fast speeds for optimal splashing. Would like it to spin/splash easily at slow to medium speeds.

Learnt that Lacquer + permanent marker = smudge... Salvaged it and sealed with expoxy. Also learnt that lacquer + permanent marker + paint brush = vibrant colour that is much better than the marker alone. NB: If I were to use markers again I'd use a brush + lacquer to paint them as it is a good technique.

Some of my earlier work all done with rattle cans, lacquer to seal, and non-optimal materials. (Ex that foil is thick plastic I use for wrapping)
