  1. Thanks guys. As bad as my luck with rubber bands is I wouldn't even consider them. I have settled on alligator clips. I have even thought about the lure turner sence I posted that pic been too busy catching fish but thanks for all the tips.
  2. this is the start to mine still have to figure out a way to brace the uprights but this is as far asi got before the game started.
  3. Thanks guys bobp that's the way I am building mine with the arms with clips to attach to the bills
  4. I have finally decided to break down an build a lure dryer after all these years. Now my question are there any pros or cons on the direction of the baits? Sticking out like a faris wheel or length wise like a rotisserie? I know you guys have some thoughts on this so please weigh in good or bad. Thanks
  5. Thanks and frank is correct I made my first spike it order yesterday and a man called this morning to thank me form my order and asked if I had any questions about there products we talked a few minutes and he offers me some samples of there products I didn't order to try and see if I liked them very good customer service.
  6. What are changeables? I ordered some motor oil from MF and it said changeable on the bottle. I put 15 drops in 2 cups of plastic and it didn't add very much color at all. I put one drop of brown pumpkin from lure craft and it was too dark. Not trying to hijack the tread.
  7. I use pop tart wrappers they are very thin and has a small amount of stretch.
  8. Here is a 1442 g3 I modified to be a open floor pond boat
  9. Do you guys use D2T over foil on your knock off or repaints? I have been looking for a chrome black back square bill for the last couple of years and can't find one so I built one. I use automotive clear coat and it doesn't cover up the seams to my liking. I have D2T that I use for other baits but I was wondering if the the thicker topcoat would hurt the action of the lighter plastic baits? I'm using the 1.5 and 2.5 ko's
  10. Yes that's the one I figured it was a custom mold. I knew I have never seen a mold that makes a fluke type bait that looks that good. Thanks
  11. bob what mold are you using to make those baby bass looking jurk baits in the picture.
  12. I make baits to catch fish not fishermen. The guys that that can make the hand poured works of art more power to you. With this arthritis in my hands I can't . I'll use color and glitter to do my art work and inject baits and catch fish. Thanks guys
  13. I been hand pouring for a few years but I finally broke down and bought some good injection molds and the very first baits came out perfect. Only experience injecting molds is the little cheap plastic molds from Jann's and they are hit and miss with bait quality but ever bait with these molds was perfect with no experience except what I learned on here. With this quality of bait out of the gate I hope my bank account can survive this horrible mistake. Thanks guys for all the help.
  14. Thanks! no gulp only zoom and lure craft baits I made.
  15. I have a few injection molds that should be here first of the week and I'm out of plastic. I'm going to order a gallon of plastic but can't right this minute. I have some baits some I made and some store bought that I usuly cut up and add to new plastic when I'm ready to pour but know I don't have any new plastic to add them to. Now my question can I remelt these baits without the the new plastic liquid to melt them in without scorching or burning the small chunks of plastic. Any tips or advice thanks
  16. Thanks guys those bass tackel molds are close to what I was looking for. I have tried to scrape the molds before with very little success. I need to try again with the silicon spatula. My molds are rtv so I don't think the hot knife will work. I have one unopened that I need to play with some. Again thanks guys
  17. I'm looking for a 6" & 8" molds with swimming legs like a zoom lizard. I have a hand pour mold but my hand is not steady enuff too do those thin legs and tail with any consistency.
  18. I have used lacquer for a long time with zero problems. I tried water base paints when I started and they suck to me. I put a fan outside the door of my shop and let it pull some air out I don't use a mask or anything like that its not like your painting a car you a only spraying a very small amount of paint. I wouldn't spray lacquer in the house but if you have some air moving you'll be fine.

  21. Yes the 1/16 I made are very bad. I use mostly 1/8 to 1/4. I thought about the epoxi but I don't paint most of mine unless the fish are just biteing the tail of a fire tail or chartreuse tail worm, then I use a head the color of the tail of the worm so they bite the head instead of the tail. I take my heads out of the mold pretty quick. I think I will build a few and let them set in the molds a little longer then build a few with some harder lead and then epoxi a few and see witch ones hold up better. I wish the water would cool of some more so I can quit fishing the dang little worms and start froggin and spinnerbait fishing. I hate fishing this slow! Thanks for the tips guys
