I've noticed people using paintbrush bristles and the like for fins on swimbaits. I used some fishair, a synthetic for flytying, and it seems to have some AWESOME action in the water. What other materials have you guys used to make fins? --J

I'm far from qualified to give much advice on this, but from reading on here I found that ammonia free windex works as a nice thinner for createx. I strained mine through some washed panty hose, dumped it into the bowl, shot a squirt or two of windex in there, backflushed and started spraying. Seems to work well to me, though I have no experience to compare it to.

Just did my first airbrushing, which was very rewarding. Only stencil I had to work with was some wire mesh. Looking at some of the amazing patterns on here, I'm sure folks are using all kinds of stencils to get some of these effects. So what all have you guys used as stencils?

A friend recently bought some very fine, shiney pigment for working with polymer clay when we were in hobby lobby. It's almost like glitter, except a thousand times finer. I suppose it could be the metalic flake thats in pearlescent paints. Anybody tried mixing this stuff with epoxy/ e tech?

So I take it that I ought not to be curing this stuff in my bedroom?

I run into the same problem, I set the angle at 20 or 25* on the table saw and try to set the blade to half the width of my dowel. I think I've overcome this problem by simply testing it out on scrap dowel when I get it close, but holding the bait flat enough to make the angle go in the same way on both sides is proving to be a challenge. I've often ended up having to sand out my mistakes, which can be a very time consuming and meticulous process. I really like the idea of creating some kinda jig!
