  1. nice job! at the top of the hardbait forum the topic of cookbook gives you a colors for other peoples colors and patterns. Also you could post your picture in the gallery section and youll probably get some good reviews. < Its pretty much the trophy room for lures lol. take care and welcome to the forum alot of fantastic people on here.

  2. i would be happy to pitch in on a small membership fee per year im not on in the summer a whole lot but i just started making my own lures and painting crankbaits and this is basically all the help i get (and all i need :) ) so i would much rather it run smooth for 10 bucks a year or something wich is extremely affordable but if everyone did this annually it could help this site really become something better than it already is. thanks jim

  3. So i went to hobby lobby today and there was a iwata hpcs for 52 bucks because a customer said it was not spraying right. So first i thought what the heck ill give it a shot to see if i can fix it or see whats wrong with it for that price why not if worst came to i would return it so. .35mm tip by the way

    - When i sprayed trans color it sprayed great when it came to pearls it would be really touchy to my drawback for paint then it would just come out way to fast! So my question really is i guess is the .35 tip to small for pearl paints? Whats your thoughts, and i took the AB apart and cleaned it personally and its spotless, the needle is straight everything tight. Help would like to get away with this brush for 50 bucks would definately make my weekend.

  4. Thanks rayburnguy, the lip already has a slot through contact edge against the bait but i believe i may have to file some of the lip to leave roop for some epoxy to fit in the slot with the lip. Thanks i really appreciate all the help cant wait to post a picture hopefully in the next few days i will be able to.

so this is where im at with my crankbaits im wondering what i should use to glue in the lip on the crankbaits. The material of the lip is the computer material i believe its 1/16 thick and the lip slot fits tight with the bill will this be an issue with the glue? thanks for all the help guys hopefully this will become second nature for me so i can help others as well, jim

  6. i ordered some of the circuit board bills off of lure parts.com today with some eye lags or screws. all i have right now is a drawing made of this crankbait im going to make my dad has all the wood tools i need to get it done so it will all be an experiment when i start. I am just trying to get as much information as possible so when the build starts it can be half way smooth rather than a bunch of breaks trying to accomplish one bait. next ill have to research on sealing the bait or not before paint and how to finish the holes drilled for the eye wires.

  7. Hi Im wondering were i can get a good deal on some balsa wood for some flat sided cranks so im looking at 1/2" x 3" x 48" or so but has to be half inch by 3 inch for sure. I tried looking it up and the best i really came with the shipping and handling cost more than the stick of wood. thanks jim

  8. Hi I just painted my revo sx with some auto air and cleared it with a rattlecan, last time ill do that. The clear is now a couple days old and seems to be soft still i followed exact instructions on the can i just don't think its the quality i was looking for, for durability purposes. Im green at this airbrushing and custom stuff to tackle and reels and was wondering who on here has had great success with a durable clear coat that i can count on. I know i have put enough coats on it to wet sand and if need be ill redo the paint job. any insight would be great and fully appreciated. thanks, jim

  9. Well i hope this works because this is what i have for a while until i understand or get good on the airbrush. The neo came with a .35 tip i believe so I'm hoping that will help me with the detail that i need to do since i really won't be doing fine lines quite yet. I also got createx transparent paints so hopefully that shoots easy so i don't have to many complications to start with.

  10. Hi there new to the forum but joined because i heard incite here is outstanding and so far its been incredible. I recently bought two airbrushes. One is a central pneumatic from arbor freight but i mostly bought it for the compressor since it was a kit for 89 bucks i thought what the heck. I then also bought a iwata neo both these airbrushes have a .35 tip. I also bought create paint kit witch comes with 4 transparent colors and 2 opaque colors. I was inquiring on how i should thin these I've been researching and have came up with the fuzzy conclusions. Ive read you can thin with distilled water but heard it dilutes the bindings in the paint so the other option was diluter/extender? I would just like to know what i can use before I even start so i don't get terrible results. Please some help and much appreciated, jim.

  11. well i went to harbor freight and bought their airbrush kit came with compressor hose and airbrush and regulator for 89.00 then i went to hobby lobby and bought an itawa neo with the 40% off coupon for 38.00 thanks for all the tips and advice figured that would give me a good start, thanks again, jim
