  1. One last request/question. What type jig you want to see in a 1/24. Round head with barb, without barb, etc. I think they need specifics.
  2. Put us up a link to their contact email or something. I think you would get more help that way.
  3. I think maybe some guys modified their presto pots and drilled and tapped them. Then bought a valve to put on it. Seems they had some problems keeping those valves hot enough for the plastisol to stay in liquid state. Jbob's on the money here but lots of opinions abound. I'll grab my popcorn.
  4. Here's a bunch of Shakey heads and other asst. ball head jigs I recently did with Columbia powder paint. I try to stick with the more muted, natural colors.

    Jig Skirts?

Could you elaborate and tell me what is different other than colors? I went and dug out the stuff I was talking about. It's from Jann's and is a Skip Cut Silicone Mat. It's tabs cut in a big long string and you cut each one. Looks like a 40+ strand tab. Color is (090) Gold Pump Pep. The silicone is stiff, a lot of the strands are stuck together. For me and what I want in a tab, just not the same quality as what I buy from Rat Trap. I'm sure others have good tabs too. I found GLC's website a couple weeks ago and it looks like pretty big business.

Bassdeucer, Not sure what you mean here. You open the eye of the hook up with your drill press? I drilled my piece of stock with the drill press.

Certainly not trying to dispute what you are saying here Smalljaw as I certainly have the utmost respect in your expertise but I can send you a tab or two and you would look and say, where'd this crap come from.

I have opened up the eyes on Mustad 32798's in a Arkie to make up bladed jigs. It isn't too hard. I took a piece of flat stock drilled a small hole right on the edge so I could place the eye of that hook over the hole and let the rest of the jig lay off and away from the piece of stock. Then take a small center punch and place it in the eye. Then give it a good rap with a small hammer. You can close it with a pair of pliers. Never had any problems with it weakening. That's not to say it didn't though.
  10. I have this mold and get the same results as this from time to time. Mostly full pours. What I do is heat my mold with a torch before I start pouring. Never tried heating hooks. Run my lee pot on about 7 but never really measured it temp wise with my IR thermometer. I think if you'll get your temps up, smoke/graphite your mold ( dealers choice ) that should help.
  11. I think instead of pb blaster, the name of the stuff you can get from HDepot is Fabulous Blaster. It's a graphite spray lube. PB Blaster is a penetrating lubricant. Spray it lightly on your mold as a release agent instead of smoking the mold with a candle. Also helps in getting a full pour in your cavities.

    Yes Sir they do. rattrap2@verizon.net
  13. + 2 on the glass cutter. How about Glassy Shad?
  14. Cadman, Off subject but I am always impressed at the amazing paint you are able to do with your tap technique and powder paint. My hat is off to your skill and expertise with this. Just looking at your last photo on your tutorial.
  15. I was looking at Columbia Coatings website and they have a product that is called powder water. I read on their website you can mix 1to1 and brush or spray the powder paint. Maybe this is something you could explore to get the detail you are looking for.

    Jig Skirts?

I have ran into the sticky skirt issue from some tabs I ordered from Jann's, I think that's where they came from. Just a certain color I wanted to match a hatch I was fishing. It was like they were made from some cheap sticky silicone. I thought it was weird too. Rat Trap uses high grade silicon and have never had that issue with their tabs. A-1 quality stuff. The only thing is Bubba doesn't have a visual catalog of his stuff. I could tell you why, but not on this forum. If you ask him, he will send you a sample of something you're interested in. He has a PDF of his stuff that describes the color, somewhat, but no pics. That's the only drawback. But the quality of his tabs are excellent and the price is right......
  17. My anniversary is tomorrow and can't decide between the 631 and the 639. BassTackle has these in a five cavity now with each cavity having it's own injection port for shooting laminates. The 631 is 3.5 inches and the 639 is five inches. Any ideas on the most versatile size? Can't afford both so must choose one or the other. Opinions?
  18. I had to do that. Thought you might get a chuckle out of it. Good luck with the search.
  19. That's a big jig. Here is one on sale for 143.00. :-) http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_48555_48555
  20. Here's a company called GLC in Vietnam that advertise who their customers are. Even shows some employees in their factory making skirts. Looks like pretty high tech stuff. Think they've gone beyond 2x6's and aluminum :-). Enjoy http://www.viet-imports.com/SuppliedProducts.asp
  21. ???????????.??????.??. I've always wondered how they did that stuff.
