  1. Use Both actually. I'm going to be working on this friday. One of my competitors has a brighter chart than my injector.. time to reformulate. haha
  2. that's really the top 3 right there. Sad part is im having an injector inject my baits and they don't even have access to some of the newer ones that MF and LureCraft have.. I keep asking for their supplier's contact so I can at least see whats available the lack of creativity is killing me LOL Oh yeah, the other is Lurecraft they have quite a bit of glitter. and Do it does as well
  3. Sun light at mid day on cardboard is working also. I wouldn't do it on steel or anything.. but seems the infrared and ultraviolet of the sun is just right to heat the bait without melting it.
  4. Anyone know what happened with Reaper Keeper Hooks? was it a pain in the a$$ or did they just not work or what? Sorry if this is in the wrong place.. I'm looking for EWG options especially ones with different keeper options, ... whats the story?
  5. I like the hot water method. I've achieved some results heating lures in micro wave.. but you risk getting too hot and melting them into foreign shapes. Boiling water is about right and better controlled.
  6. Anyone have any experience between using different types of bags. Do the laminated hold up better compared to the standard poly ethylene or the super clear polyethylene. Are they speacialy formulated for it? Or do the standard poly bags hold up just fine over time?
  7. It does settle... they all do, but it does settle less than some others. I do like their product so don't get me wrong. I've used it and it's pretty good plastisol. I'm using the Lurecraft 550 as well right now when I shoot. you can add hardner to it and make it as hard as you want.
  8. You can also suck up the outter color last in your hand injector.. just a little bit maybe 1/3 of the lure. Shoot the lure, the last color in will be the outer color and the core will push the rest of the outer color to the outside and end of the lure, and the core will run through the entire lure. Hard to recycle the unshot material from the hand injector but it works.
  9. what you guys are forgetting is that Six year olds forget too.
  10. For the size of musky lures, I think you'd have to do an open pour mold and not an injection mold. if you wanted to do an injection then probably go with silicone so you won't have the shrinkage. It's going to take some time to hit the pot life or cure before removing it.. but silicone would hold up pretty good to them teeth.
  11. Any new bag suppliers other that what's listed above?
  12. Thanks.. no, looking for a supplier. I won't have time to do it myself. t
  13. Anyone have any idea where to get the molded plastic trays to keep the baits seperate. several of the bigger companies like berkly use them to keep gulp straight in the bags as well. I'm about to start a project and some might sit for a while so I don't want the tails touching the heads, and keeping them straight would probably help too..I know it will be more expensive but might help my stock last longer and be better quality... or if there is a specific industry name for them that I could search for on internet that would help as well.
  14. i was real happy with the LC plastisol in the pthalate free formula... a lot of them settle, not just there's... I've only found one that didn't settle as much as the others but it was also very sensitive to overheating and discoloration.
  15. the helgramite with the clws looks good. test them with a bunch of friends, make sure it's something they want and not just another bait.. even if it is just another bait, you can still sell them if you market well. But it certainly helps if you create something unique or solves a problem. good luck.
  16. Don't touch the plastisol bottle without wearing gloves (either latex or nitril). Plastisol will soak through your very permeable skin. I know.. I have high levels of phthalates in my blood (above any background amount) and I've only worked on some prototypes (granted this was weekly activity). Wear gloves and use a very good vent hood pulling a lot of air.
  17. Anyone know the shore hardness (durometer) of LC's green plastisol (550 formula)?. thanks
  18. anyone know a source of a glitter similar to this. it's some sort of 'disco' or laser glitter. A brass-ish gold reflection... that's the main part I don't really care what the base film color is.. this one is a craft glitter and not high temp. I am looking for a high temp laser or disco with a similar light gold / brass reflection
  19. Im not sure that will work... or I might not be understanding what you are doing...ha probably both. .... but here's my though of why i'm not sure it will work except on open hand pour molds. On injection molds that mold will be full upon the injection of the first color. The lam plate feeds the second color at the same time into the mold. You could pull off a core shot with 2 injectors, or you could pour bottom side of mold, close, then inject top color.
  20. You're also somewhat limited on the shape of the hand pour mold... on the injection mold the sky is the limit for shapes as long as you pay attention to where it's going to part and if you can make that a straight line the molds will perform better and probably be cheaper to make. I think there are options here as well, but generally that is the case.
  21. I definitely don't go all the way to 350... I find I get more shrinkage and more glitter deformation when all the way up like that.
  22. Nailed it brotha, best to keep those kiddos happy and giggling with smaller baits.
  23. I do have to say that the Alumilite does not settle.
