  1. There are a lot of different styles out there. What body style, lip style, and price range?
  2. Thanks Bill, but I ordered some from CB Custom Lips. There was a bit of back and forth with their customer service rep to get the design just right, but the end product was great. Thanks to Jake for the link!
  3. It's short for denatured alcohol. It's used to thin the epoxy out so that it levels a bit better and it will also increase the work time a bit.
  4. I've never used E-Tex, how hard is it, versus D2T or ACC?
  5. I went online, looking for something that was both UV stable/non-yellowing and would rival the hardness of D2T. I found this website. http://www.crystalclearepoxy.com/shop/uv-poxy-clear-for-casting/ Has anyone out there tried this out? If so, can you post your results? Thanks.
  6. I have hardeners for ACC and Flex Coat, and the ACC doesn't look to be nearly as honey colored as the D2T. The next time I run a test, I may give it a try and see what happens, unless advised otherwise.
  7. Thanks Ben, I noticed that, but the ACC seems to be really clear. Do you know if you can mix hardeners from one epoxy with another to clear up the finished product a bit?
  8. Very nice site! When are we going to see that ICAST Best in Show Icon next to one of your baits?
  9. I've been doing various experiments with Devcon 2-Ton, Amazing Clear Cast, and Dick Nite used as finish coats on my crankbaits. The ACC and DN look great, but I really like the hardness and durability of the D2T, and I want to make it my default finish if possible, but the tests I have been running are on primed baits (primed with white paint) and I always notice that the D2T is not as clear as the others, it has a bit of a yellow tint to it. The yellow tint isn't really noticeable with colored paint, but very obvious over white. I use syringes to measure, small plastic mixing cups and plastic bristle brushes. I also mix in a few drops of DA to help with bubbles. Am I doing something wrong or is that the natural color of the epoxy when cured? Or could it be that it's old? Any help would be great!
  10. Yes, the TG76OEM-BN is available in bulk. And it will be much less than if you bought KVD's retail.
  11. I forgot to mention, that he does have a similar hook available, but it does not have the needlepoint. It is model TG76OEM-BN. I got some samples from him, and these are the same as the KVD ones in every regard, except the premium point.
  12. I have contacted Mustad about trying to get these hooks in bulk, and they will not be selling them that way until sometime next year. But, if you would like to send a message to their sales rep, his name is Harry Simmons and his email is Harry@mustad-usa.com . He told me that they are currently building facilities to allow them to offer these in bulk to customers as they are becoming more and more popular. However, I don't know if he does bulk sales with individuals or not.
  13. Thanks guys, I'll check them out and post again when I see results.
  14. Does anyone out there know where I can get custom designed lexan crankbait lips fairly cheap? I have a couple of non-standard designs I would like to try out, but I can't find the lengths or shapes I want on any of the "usual" lure making sites, i.e. Barlows, Janns, LPO, etc.
