  1. I believe a standard drop is 0.05-0.06 mL. Try converting your drops and use a syringe, like what's typically used for children's medicine. I've never had an issue doing it this way. It's the most consistent way I've tried.
  2. Thanks. I know where and how to get bags. I have 6x4s and 7x4s. I was really just wanting to know what issues I could expect if I put 10"-12" worms in a 7x4 bag and they stay shelved for awhile. Smallmouthaholic, I never considered letting them cure vertically. Thanks for the tip!
  3. Hi, everyone... For what I do, 6x4 or 7x4 laminated bags have worked just fine for packaging my baits; however, I'm thinking about pouring some large worms. Would it be in my best interest to just buy 100 of the 11x4 bags? (I won't be pouring nearly enough to justify that many bags, but--you know--no one will sell me, like, five or ten.) Has anyone packaged larger baits in smaller bags? What are the negative effects on the baits (assuming it'll have some shelf life)? Could they end up permanently misshapen? Thanks, guys.
  4. Thanks, guys! I'm going to lighten it up a bit.
  5. ^^^ I was mostly talking about sticks with slots. *That was a tricky sentence to type. It was a couple of auto-corrects from being really inappropriate.
  6. Personal preference...I hate slotted soft plastics. When plastics tear, it's typically at the hook. I feel like that slot weakens it even more. I just bury the point and get with it. By "get with it", you probably thought I meant fish/catch fish. Curveball, y'all. I meant "cuss about back-lashes for the next six hours before giving up and boat-napping until weigh-in where I'll make a feeble attempt at appearing excited about the fish everyone else caught". So, there's that. As far as weakening the bait, I have no scientific study proof or mathematical equation to support that claim.
  7. Hi, everyone... I've been lurking on this forum for awhile and--first off--thank you all. I've been manipulating baits since a child (buzzbait rigged with a 10" worm instead of a skirt, 'sup? Nine-year-old me thought I was up-skirting Strike King. I wasn't...and the fish weren't fooled.). Only recently have I started tinkering with pouring my own soft plastics. I've kept it simple: four baits; stick, ribbed worm, a craw-type bait that I call "Twig Licker", and a creature bait that kinda-sorta looks like a patent infringement that I have affectionately named "Pud Thumper". The knowledge and openness I've found on this board is incredible. I greatly appreciate you all taking the time to answer questions from newbies, even though the topics are often repetitive. As many of you have probably seen, Zoom lists all of their colors on their site and one I've been trying to replicate is the Green Pumpkin Orange. Is this simply green pumpkin with orange and black flake? The answer is probably obvious and I feel like a tool for even asking, but I'll take any help I can get. (I didn't see this color in the Cookbook.) Thanks, KD Also...hooray fish!
