  1. I have tried a couple of methods in making 3D eyes. My favorite method is photographing real fish eyes. Edit them in photoshop a bit. Print them out, cut them out and then use a doming gun to put clear bubble free resin over them. If you are going to make a silicone mold you can just mold teddy bear eyes, wood plugs or 3D eyes you have bought in the store. but it is really hard to get bubble free casts in molds. You will need a vacuum chamber to get a 100% result.
  2. Thanks man! I am currently using tapes from Witchcraft tapes and they are pretty hard to work with and I need three layers of Epoxy to get a super smooth finish to paint on .
  3. Thanks for posting! How does it work and where do I get it? Can you make a little tutorial maybe ?
  4. You guys should try Wolfcreek Lure Epoxy. It is much better than Envirotex lite. Less harmful for your health, easier to get rid of bubbles and better UV protection.

Thanks man! I attach a big curly tail in the end of the lure. Perfect for coldwater slow fishing during the autumn. Check my instagram and you will see how it looks with a tail attached. Instagram: pickadolllures

I usually make hard plastic lures but sometimes I make wood baits. These are tail baits used for pike fishing.

  9. You can also try Alclad 2 chrome paint or C1 Metallizer powder. Both gives a really high quality chrome effect if the work under the chrome is good.
  10. I always paint directly on the foil on the sides. Then I clear coat the lure once or twice so the back and belly gets smooth before I start to paint those parts.
  11. He once said that CAB is much more easy to paint with compared to water based paints. He is mainly using Envirotex epoxy to clear coat his lures.
  12. Yes that is the right address. Good luck with reading that language . In Sweden you can buy all their different kinds of clear coats but not their colors YET, but CAB is going to expand their company. That is at least what I've heard.
  13. I am from Sweden. That is not like a bad word over here but I do understand what you mean and will respect what you said.
  14. He is using CAB paints. Full name of the brand is Cab coatings. It is a finish brand and it's NOT water based paints. I am using mostly Createx and Com art paints and I am also holding the lures in my hand (with gloves) while I paint them . Sometimes it gets fucked up but mostly it doesn't.
  15. Maybe the foil is contaminated by some reason? Maybe you store the foil near a silicone mold of something like that? Do you use vinyl gloves when putting on the foil? Etex and other epoxy normally stick really well to foil. I always clean my foiled lures with tenol just before I put on the clear coat. Sometimes I clear coat the lures just after I painted them. Never had any issues with fish eyes when I done that. Do you use some kind of paint on the foil that the etex doesn't like? I always got fish eyes when I used FW acrylic inks but not with Liquitex acrylic ink so the paint type or paint brand could be the problem. Or do you use some kind of glue to attach the foil that etex doesn't like either? Hope this was helpful. /David
  16. Here you have a excellent Nemo pattern painting tutorial on Youtube. Make sure to watch this guys other videos too cause he got some really cool tutorials. He makes a special kind of Nemo pattern. You should just use Orange and yellow.
  17. You can always try Fasglitter mixed with fascoat. Don't know how covering that glitter is but it could work. RC painters is often using fasglitter.
  18. ifish. Thanks! I use 50% hand brush, 25% Airbrush and 25% with sponges and toilet paper and so on . I haven't seen that much Japanese lures but what i've seen is really great! Im mostly inspired by Solarbaits, Trueglide and Melosh.
  19. Thanks guys! Joe. This lures are sinking. I like to seek the Northern pike in the deep holes. I have never seen people use these kind of lures fishing for trout but it may work .
  20. Thanks for all the tips man! Im gonna first try that Nailpolish. My girlfriend got loads of those ! This is my Tailbait model that I want to have glitter as a base color on.
  21. This is my latest from my drying wheel. It is supposed to have a big curly tail at the end. I use these to fish Pike.
  22. I want glitter as Basecolor. If I mix it with Clearcoat epoxy that will make all the details disappear under the varnish. And I need all the details on my lures to paint them looking good. This is fucking hard
  23. Pearl powder isn't enough. It will look exactly the same as when I Airbrush the lures with Pearl colors. I want the glitter look. Like this.
