I was wanting to start tying some Striper Jigs and was wanting to know what is a good head style to use and what type of hair to use. wanting to do 1/2 to 1 ounce in size.

I am looking to make finesse jigs I have used the ones from fishing skirts.com but they do not have the colors I need skirts plus does but I have to buy 1000 of each color to get what I want and didnt need that many.

Does anyone have a different place to buy the fine cut skirt material other than skirts plus or fishing skirts.com skirts plus you have to buy 1000 tabs of each color and skirts plus does not have the colors that I need to make. thanks

Check with cadman on the powder paint I get most of mine from him and it all works great especially the green pumpkin he has it is the best I have used on his black it goes on very smooth for me.

I have a tackle store that I own I sell my own jigs here and do a lot of custom stuff for customers and they plastic side is something theve been wanting me to get into for a while now just never pulled the trigger but I am making a move that direction and just reasearching before I put a lot of cash into it.

Hello I am new to pouring of soft plastics. I have been making jigs buzz baits spinner baits shakey heads for about 6 years now. I am looking at getting into the injection of plastics mainly swim baits grubs and finesse worms. Looking for do's and don'ts before I wast a lot of money like I did when I started making jigs before I found this site. Best places to buy molds plastics and coloring's. Thanks for the help

I like the stand up football jig the one made by Shawn Collins Customs it is what I throw 90% of the time.

I buy the ones from fishingskirts.com and I really like the fact that they will not separate like the Kyser ones do. They are one of the best weed guards that I have used.

The Chartreuse one is poured by Cast Industries it is the Style V head. I buy them poured by them.

I have a SJU-3-MA Ultra spinner jig mold and when I pour the wire comes almost straight out of the head and needing to know if this is correct the spinner baits that I deal with come out at an angle. The chartreuse one is one of the ones that i use alot and you can see the different angle on the head.

I have never had any problems with fishingskirts.com shipping times but that is why I don't buy from Barlows unless I have too.

I talked to Erin last night about 9:30 p.m. she called because they were out of stock of one of the colors i needed. She was in a hurry and very quick and to the point and said that they had gotten way behind with the orders and the storm. Don't think she may have meant to sound or be rude just in a hurry to try and get everyone taken care of. I always call and talk to her when placing my orders.

Thanks for all the help got the mold hotter changed the lead and got it to start pouring all the way. Thanks again for the help!

I got my new mold in the other day and I am having problems getting it to pour the bottom part of the cavity all the way where the bait holder is model #HHU-5-A I am using the 604 gammy hook that it calls for I have also took a candle and smoked the mold to try that and did not help much.

Lurecraft.com had made about 10 for me. I just send them the jigs a note with what I want and they take care of it from there. They have done spinner bait and jig molds no problems yet. You may want to call and let them know what you are looking at and get a price on it.
