  1.  I use medium  for everything except tubes & crappie lures. Since i always texas rig tubes i make them by mixing 50/50 medium & hard to make them  a little firmer so as not to tear after a bite or on hookset.  My  crappie lures i make out of hard for durability since their slid up onto a barbed jighead with the hook  fully exposed. The crappie lures don't tear nearly as easy from sliding them up onto the barb & can be used a lot longer.

  2. No doubt Rick Jacobs makes some very  nice molds & injectors too. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of his products. I have several of his molds & they are definitely top notch.  As far as a dual injector goes i would buy one to do like you said about taking it apart & using it as tow  singles. Even though i have a bass tackle dual 6oz. & a single 6oz. I do at times take my dual apart so i can shoot three 6 oz. injectors at a time when i'm pumping a bunch of different baits out at once & it works great. If i was doing it over i'd buy a dual first.

I would try brown pumpkin - not too much

     then the flake,

Of course you knew this already. Don't know why i was trying to explain it to you. Which i wasn't. :D

I see a laminate too with a very light green  top & a  light brown on bottom on their sight when i look up original power worm in camo. May be able to get very close with a  small amount of green pumpkin & a drop of florescent lime for the top & a small amount of brown based green pumpkin with a small amount of  orange for the bottom. Yellow is also another good color to add to both green or brown based green pumpkin colors to cloud it or brighten it & make a small transparent  amount of either into an opaque color.

I haven’t tried lureworks. Do you know if their hard or saltwater formula heats up well in the microwave? IE no scorching or micro bubbles.

I've never had a problem with their plastic at all. You can get degassed. You can call them & ask pretty much anything you want or you can look for any post by McLuvin on here & shoot him a message too.

  6. Calhouns is good stuff if it's the same stuff baitjunkys use to sale. Baitplastics was suppose to have  reverse engineered the calhouns to make theirs. They may have but their are differences between the two. I've been buying from baitplastics ever since baitjunkys quit selling plastic. Lureworks is another great plastic too.

  7. I'd think a 1/4" or  3/8" bolt with an L shaped bracket for a handle &  the belly shape welded & shaped or molded & shaped on it would well to make them by horizontal dipping them. What would really be nice was if someone like Bob at CNC would make a tube mold with belly shape on it to make them easily by injecting them.

  8. Temp & speeds are pretty crucial when shooting plastics. Heat it to 350 & shoot quick. Like said above heat the injector if it's cold. I mix in colorant & flake most times before heating unless i'm making a totally new color that i haven't figured out the mixture yet. This way i prepare the mix, heat to 350 & inject like a well-oiled machine   more or less     & seldom have any problems at all. The more you do it the more you'll get your system worked out & the problems pretty much become a non  issue.

  9. Thanks guys. I can  dip larger profile tubes for bass & they're fine but the thinner diameter of the crappie tubes just haven't   suited   me when i dip a second color. I'll just let  the second color   cool a little  more & dip once & should be ok. I just thought you guys may have an easier way. No big deal i'll fix it. Thanks

  10. Chris I’m using  either a nail  or a piece of wire 1/8” diameter. Guess I’ll have to modify my method some. Only small 1.5” crappie tubes are what gets to bulky for my liking when I dip the second color.

No way can I delaminate a set of molds, pick up my injector and shoot again. After I shoot a set, I have to purge my injectors, pull the runners from the blending block and start over. It’s a slow process with hand injector and hand molds.

I heat, inject, purge  injector & block, wait 2 minutes,  demold &  then do the whole process over again. I've thought about a hot plate myself but have never went through with it simply because 99% of the time i work in 4 ounce batches  for  a single  color bait or 4 ounces of  each color for a laminate.

  12. Most say heat to 350 & let cool to 320 to 330. After making soft plastics for  years now i pretty much   just heat mine & check to see that the two different colors are the same consistency & usually don't have a problem. I know from experience if i've got it to hot.

  13. I usually only do 4 or 6 ounce batches but if remelting fresh plastic don't  i have a problem . Iff heating more than once i always put a lid of stabilizer in it.  Any older left over plastic i've stored for a while  i cut up small &  fill  a  1 cup pyrex  & add a lid full to it & that works out good too.
