  1. Does anyone else have issues with certain brands or colors of powder paint in fluid beds. I used pearl white and chartreuse with no so good results. When I dip my jigs it appears the top of the jig get coated properly however the bottom of the jig is not getting enough paint. Its like its not sticking the the lead. I know my lead is hot enough so I was wondering if anyone else has this issue. I did use black/blue flake with no issues. Is it just the color of paint? I am using pro-tec and stamina. I went back and dipped straight from the canister with the same paint with no issues. I am thinking maybe just the colors i am using. Lighter colors seem to be a little more finicky to me. Any comments would be appreciated.
  2. I heated powder coated and cured all with the wg protector on and it worked out pretty good. I used as low heat as I could and still get good adhesion from dipping the jigs. I also cured at a lower temp for a longer time. I think the key to doing this is to leave the wg protector on until the jig has completely cooled to room temp. I removed one early and it flared a little on me.
  3. Does anyone powder coat with weedguards attached using weedguard protectors. How have the results been. What temps do you use to cure.
  4. I guess we could just give them away and charge extra for shipping lol.
  5. I got my order in yesterday from LPO. I ordered 3/8 dancer swim jigs with the dancer blades and #2 duo-locks. Assembled a couple and smashed them this morning. I did not bend my blades though. This gave it a more erratic action that the original chatterbait however I did have a couple instances where the blades did not vibrate correctly. This was corrected with a couple of twitches. I ordered green pumpkin head with True-image bluegill skirt. Felt great to catch fish with a bait you built yourself.
  6. Does anyone pour their own chatterbaits. If so what components to you use. I am looking to build one without using split rings.
  7. What mold is this. I have been looking for a good frog mold.
  8. anybody used their powder paints
  9. Has anybody used their powder paints or other products. How are they.
  10. do you have a pic of the 5x886. I would like to see a finished lure. I am thinking about getting this one.
  11. I have Lurecrafts 5x869. I like it. I just started pouring and its a little too cold to get our for me so I will have to wait a while to fully test it but I like it. Really easy to pour.
  12. MonteSS where did you get that mold. Looks like a rage craw.
  13. I am looking for a mold to get as close to a Mister Twister Sassy Shad as I can get. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  14. I am new to this as well but here is my very limited take. The first mold was hand made from body filler for trick worms. This worked good but as stated above not very economical for every mold you want. I then purched 7 silicone molds from lurecraft and have been very pleased. As far as plastic I have only used medium lurecraft and some medium from bears. I loved the lurecraft. Very easy to work with. I tried to go a cheaper routed with a gallon from bears and have been disappointed. No matter if I stir or shake I end up with a ridiculous amount of micro bubbles. I don't mind on the darker colors but hate it on light colors. I am about to or some injection molds. As stated before this is very addictive. Good luck to ya.
