  1. I have an injection tube mold from anglin A I, Love it, still have to cut the tails but I had to on the dipped tubes
  2. I dipped tubes for awhile the only problem I had was the need to keep a lot of plastic in the cup so I was able to maintain the 3.5 inch tubes, I had a 4 rod dipper so after a couple of dips I had to add more plastic to the cup to keep the depth up, other than that dipping worked great

    No Lead Jigs

You guys are so right, A lot of today's Biologists are anti's All of these bans are probably back door attempts at stopping our sports My state legislature looked at a bill last week to ban lead in hunting bullets The bills sponsor stated people were getting sick from eating game shot with lead bullets. " Unbelievable "

    No Lead Jigs

I had to call New Hampshire fish and game to get the skinny on the lead ban for my club. The first thing out of the woman's mouth after I asked if we could use Lead jig heads this year was Well you know we have to protect our Loons, so you fishermen should not be using lead and next year you won't be Now I was not being confrontational at all, just wanted to no the law even though I don't know if there has ever been a case of a loon that died from eating a lead weight proven. I may be straying from tackle making so better stop

    No Lead Jigs

As of now we here in Vermont can use lead in jig heads and weights of over 1/2 oz. That is why I was looking for the lead free stuff to pour my drop shot weights Next year New Hampshire will have a total ban on all lead and since I fish tournaments over there it affects me Hope this law doesn't spread any further

    No Lead Jigs

I found a lead free pewter alloy with 92% tin-7% antmony- 0.3 % copper but can't find much on comparison weight for this and lead

    No Lead Jigs

Does anyone use pewter for pouring jig heads From what I can find out it melts a little less temp than lead and costs about 1/2 of bismuth This is the last year for lead in New Hampshire so probably only a matter of time before it happens here in Vermont
  9. This is how I pre-heat my injector and molds while warming up my shop I have a forced hot air furnace with a 6" pipe coming through the wall into the shop. When I first fire up I put the molds-injector in this pipe for a couple of minutes it doesn't take long. I was shooting some tubes today and decided at the last minute to shoot a drop shot worm mold without heating it first. only filled 1 of the five tails of these baits, warmed up the mold reheated the plastic, and the second shot came out great
  10. And one more thing, if you get a color you like write it down. If you're like me you will forget how many drops and how much glitter you used
  11. I have been using Do-it's crystal clear for awhile now and just got my first (box) of Essential Series Haven't shot much with it but so far I really like it. I have only heated a few 1/2 cups in micro, will try heating a bigger batch tomorrow in my presto-pot to shoot some tubes,so far it seems to have less smell,so my wife tells me
  12. Hope you don't mind. I printed the picture of your burned hand, will hang it on the wall over my work station as a reminder. Get well soon
  13. Just got on and everything worked

    Tube Mold

Anglin Ai, I got one last year and love it. nice uniform baits You will have to cut the tails, I got a cutting block from Lure Craft and adapted it to my drill press

    Swim Bait Mold

4.5 or 5" I have tried quite a few swim baits but have the best luck with the kietech's
  21. looking for an injection mold close to a kietech swim impact
  22. Angling AI tube mold is the best, shoots really well and very consistent product. I used to dip my tubes and it worked pretty well but much better product with injecting I have 3.5 mold and the cutter block that I adapted to a drill press works well and I can remove the base and block and drill things with it

    Cooked Plastic

I didn't try it after that, I used my presto pot but you maybe right I will run a test batch of new plastic and keep a close watch on it. Thanks

    Cooked Plastic

I checked it at 2 min and it wasn't much over 200 my microwave normally takes 3 to get to 325 I mixed the two plastics together in one jug on sat so they blended for 24 hrs. I have been making baits for a couple of years now and never had this happen, and don't want to see it again, one thing I did wrong was to walk away from my bench to put a something away instead of watching things, lesson learned (pay attention)
