  1. I don't want to jack this thread, but I'm pretty new to this thing and was wondering if any of you have molded soft plastic baits directly. I tried this a few weeks back and have obviously found that a resin/hard plastic master works MUCH better, but if you were to mold the original soft plastic worm, what would you use to secure the worm to the bottom of the mold? Super glue didn't work well for me, as the oil in the plastisol didnt allow bonding. Thanks for your input and sorry for taking this a bit off topic.
  2. A touch off topic, but I saw a comment posted on the newbie sticky at the top that I wanted clarification on. Is it a bad idea to microwave soft plastic with metal flake mixed in?
  3. Thanks everyone for all the replies. Sounds like I need to look into getting a presto pot.
  4. I appreciate the fast response Jig Man, I assumed that a downpour pot with a temperature control would be the easiest way to keep plastics at a consistent temperature and achieve the cleanest pours. This is the only way that I've seen the local custom worm guys pour their products in the past. Maybe I need to consider starting with the basics in microwave/pyrex.
  5. Good Morning, I'm new to the forum here and looked about 20 pages deep into the 'soft plastics' forum and couldn't find the answer to this question. (I apologize if I was just blind) I'm preparing to mold & pour my own 6"- 9" hand pour swimbaits. Will a Lee 20lb lead melting pot do the job for pouring? If not, which pot is the best option in the $50-$100 price range? If it exists? Thanks!
