Painting some wood baits I’ve made. I heat set every coat and apply light coats of paint. When I was done the paint was kind of sticky. Clear coat ruined it. What am I doing wrong?

My recommendation would be Alumilite High Strength RTV Silicone. It's $30 at hobby lobby but if you have the 40% off coupon it's like $18. I didn't do the math I'm just trying to recall from the last time I bought it. If you 100% want your mold to turn out without risk of improper measurements dump the whole catalyst into the silicone body. Its pre measured so you can't measure it wrong.

I am working on creating a big glide bait. 10-12 inches long. I'm carving a master, molding it, and reproducing it with Resin. My question was when pouring do I need to add weights to the belly or will toying with microballoons be enough?

I have been using acrylic paint for 1-2 years. I have collected over 50 colors because they are affordable. For base coat stuff it works good but anything with detail I much rather prefer actual airbrush paint. Testors, createx etc. Sprays nicer on low pressure and doesn't run as easy.

I'm looking for a way to dye the tails of my worms. Spike it is the obvious choice but no one local sells it and I need it for this weekend. Has anybody dyed soft plastics with some homemade method?

With the cold weather I have been ripping lipless cranks off the bottom a lot. Specifically Rapala Rippin Raps. I'm looking to find blanks that are good for ripping. Heavy baits in a small body. Anyone know of any?
