  1. I have a used Jacob's baits econo series injection machine with an extra heater to warm the plastic faster. Works great, but I never use it anymore.
  2. I think I'm going to stick with plastisol. I'm mainly making crappie baits that don't need to be soft and I'd just like them to be tougher.
  3. Say I wanted to use some of those in injection molds. Which ones would I use and where would I get them?
  4. I use MF saltwater and still add a bunch of hardener to it.
  5. I am wanting some harder plastic for crappie baits. I add a bunch of hardener to my plastic, but I am wondering who makes the toughest stuff out there?
  6. I also get bubbles in my MF saltwater plastic. It bubbles less than the Do-It plastisol I previously used, but it does bubble. I use it to dip my swimbaits in after I apply my eyes and they routinely have bubbles on them. No color, glitter, or other additive is added. I mostly hand inject so the bubbles are rarely an issue, but they are an issue when I pour baits.
  7. I am trying to remove the factory eyes from 6 8XD crank baits that I have been asked to repaint, and Strike King did not intend on those eyes coming out! I broke a scalpel and almost took one of my eyes out in the process. So far I have removed 1/2 of 1 eye. I am eagerly waiting all of the helpful replies.
  8. Get the super cheap foil from the dollar store. It is thin and easy enough to burnish and get foot detail on the bait.
  9. Try their Crystal Clear Plastisol. It works great.
  10. If you do, what kind would you recommend?
  11. I agree. The best thing to do is to watch some youtube videos and just start pouring baits. You will be amazed at how fast you improve. The fish don't care if your baits are pretty, only you do.
  12. Tried a new batch of Do It plastic and have zero issues. I just got an old batch when I bought the lot of plastic injection stuff a few months ago. I better not for that price!
  13. Are you using soft plastic? Do you want the baits to sink fast?
  14. I tried heating slowly, stirring slowly, pouring slowly, and every other slow thing that I could think of and it didn't help. My plastic was bubbling up before it even hit 300 degrees. I contacted Do It Molds and they offered to ship me another 2.5 gallons of plastisol for free. They said that I must have gotten a bad batch. Great customer service!
