  1. Thanks Jeffhill! Worked like a charm. Shot it just a little harder and faster at around 315°F instead of 350°F like the one that came out lousy. This seems to have done the trick! Just came out perfect....thank you so much for your help.
  2. Bassinfool, yes! Top foot....highest point in mold when oriented up in injection position. I'm thinking of clamping mold in my big vise at a 45° angle for injection. Might work. I can also shoot it so Sprue hole is horizontal, that would make feet lowest part of the mold. Thoughts?
  3. Just did my first Frog in this injection mold. I poured a white pearl belly, then the top was green pumpkin. 2 drops In 4 oz with .040 Black Hex. It came out awesome except one of the feet has a void in it. I purged the air, did a steady pressure and kept the pressure on for about 7 seconds. Sprue was filled over top. How can I get this perfect next time? Thanks in advance for your help. Everything was stirred well too.
  4. I just used my new 5" Do-it Senko for the first time last night. Aside from a couple with air bubbles (my first soft baits ever made), I am excited to fish these! I did 4 oz of plastisol, a few drops of softener and stabilizer. I did 5 drops of Purple, red glitter, silver glitter, and just a pinch of Pearl powder. On the reheat for the second batch I added some plastisol but no more color. Added more glitter though. The second batch came out great too. More translucent. I over pressured with the injector and had a small mild blowout which resulted in a bit of trimming. I've already learned the range now of injector pressure to strike that balance between voids and trimming. I love this hobby! I thank you all again for your info and help. Reading these forums has allowed me to get fishable Senkos on my first try! You guys rock. I also have a Do-it laminate plate for the Senko mold. I'll get to that after I've gotten the basics down. Enjoy your Sunday folks.
  5. Hi all....new to soft plastics. I ice fish, kayak fish, fly fish, and tie flies. This is the next logical step for me. Building rods hasn't really interested me yet. I've started with the Do-it $200 starter kit plus some additional molds, glitters, and my favorite color Purple. I picked up a 900W microwave at Wally World and have a well ventilated work area in my garage. I should be pouring by the weekend. Thank you for all your great info here....be safe! Scott
