  1. Looking for some help from the Tackle Underground world. Does anyone know where I can find any RC 2.5 Wake Bait KO's or originals for repaint? I have some loyal followers of this blank and they are getting extremely hard to find at a reasonable price, or that are actually worth buying. Any help will be greatly appreciated. These are the Rick Clunn single joint 2.5 wake bait, offered by Lucky Craft and manufactured by Ichiban tackle in Japan. Thanks
  2. The blanks actually come with the fiber tail, so I don't have to worry myself with that process. There are a couple suppliers for the bullnose. One is http://avidbasstackle.com the other one I have found is Shelts. I purchase a lot of my blanks from Avid, good service nice blanks reasonably priced,
  3. What I have come up with is a jig that I use a set of forceps on the tail end and a small turn buckle on the eye. It allows me to tension the bait between the two and with the jig a turntable I just soon it back and forth for the opposite side.
  4. Thanks for the input on this swimbait issue. I have come up with a turn buckle and clamp that seems to be working well for me see the attached. It hasn't been cleared yet.
  5. DaleSW I've rigged up a clamp and turnbuckle that looks like it's going to work. I'll get some pictures tomorrow and attach them. I'd still like some other options. I like the idea of hot glue but I'm just not seeing it. I'd like to hold it so I can paint this tail, but then I have the issue of what clear to apply. I may actually try some Spike it instead of paint. May not have to apply clear then. Thanks
  6. I've just started with these and I'm struggling with holding them during the painting process. With the bristle brush tail I haven't come up with a way to keep them held and still paint the tail. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Swimbaits

Can someone leed me to some manufactured swimbait blanks for multiple depths. I would like to locate ones that are top water, slow sinking, and just plain sinking. Basically I have some guys looking for set to cover all the depth ranges. I have found some but I can't locate a supplier for the set. Thanks in advance.

    Clear Coat

Thanks for the response's about automotive clear. I have check into that and yes it is available however there are draw backs, it works pretty good for volume production not so good for smaller counts. The other thing I've been warned about is the consistency from mix to mix as you ad the flattening agent. I was hoping to find something a little more friendly with smaller quantities and easier to control. I'll try another automotive paint supplier maybe someone there could shed more light. Thanks again for the input.

    Clear Coat

Can someone shed some light on what everyone is using for a satin or semi gloss clear coat on their custom painted crank baits. I've been doing baits for about a year now and have been asked by numerous people for a satin clear coat. I want to make sure I offer something that I know will hold up for them. I currently use either Devcon 2 ton or automotive Imron all depends on how many I have to clear up. Any incite will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  10. Thank Ben. It looks like a good place for me to start.
  11. Thanks Dave I'll give that a try.
  12. I'm looking for advise on the technique that actually makes the baits look alive. I've never tried it but would like to any ideas on were to start? I've heard it's actually a paper transfer can anyone confirm or deny that?
