  1. Nice setup! I use the same setup as you have and it works extremely well. I have a bunch of other airbrushes and use them all but my favorite is the cheap Master brand one for when I am doing baits. The hobby acrylics really suck for spraying through an airbrush. You can add a bunch of acrylic reducer to them to get the right consistency to flow correctly through the airbrush and they will work but it is just too much effort. Also sometimes you need to replicate the mix and it is tough to repeat what ratio you used. I used to measure it out and would get pretty close but it's a pain in the neck and that is why I just get Createx or the likes of it.
  2. They are $3.99 at Cabelas but I don't know if those newer ones are the same as the older ones from 7 years back. I have a bunch of them from back then when they marked them down so I scored. I saw on Ebay one guy is selling them for $2.99 each. Some of those on ebay are pretty expensive also. I like the original colors being they work awesome the way they came. My favorite is the white one with orange belly with chart top. Good luck finding them.
  3. You could have left the heating element wires on it and if dimmed down could have controlled the temp for a little heat also. Plastic box may have to be changed out and a nice set up.
  4. I use this epoxy and it works really well. http://solarez.com/products/zerovoc-epoxy-resin/ I brush it on and uv dry it and that's it. It is a tiny bit less glossy than polyester resin but it is glossy enough. I also use it for board repair and it works great.
  5. You can get one of those bigger Harbor Freight HVLP guns and spray it if you are doing a bunch at a time. http://www.harborfreight.com/lightweight-high-pressure-spray-gun-93205.html or this one http://www.harborfreight.com/20-oz-high-volume-low-pressure-gravity-feed-spray-gun-47016.html
  6. You ever had a Michelada? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelada There are different versions of it. I like them all when eating seafood or .... I just like them. Those Glugs sound really good. I will have to try that. Thanks for the tip.
  7. I'm totally with you on this one. Happy Thanksgiving to you and everybody here.
  8. Glad you got that figured out. I know that tangle. My friend used to get some of the nastiest tangles with braid on a spinner. He also manual closes the bail now.
  9. This situation occurs sometimes if you close the bail by cranking the handle and having the bail-catch auto release the bail back to normal. The line hangs up the bail and rides where your grooves are. I usually manually close my bails because I noticed this a lot when using various spinning reels in the past. If I fished it that way reeling in, and when a fish is on, it will just wear down right there more until it goes deep where yours are causing breaks. If the parts that hold the bail wire are crusty and not smooth in it's motion, it makes it happen easier. I would fix it by soldering some solder into it and fine sanding it to level and smooth. If you are a good solderer, you won't have to sand because it will be totally smooth. Another fix would be to use bondo or epoxy putty to fill the gaps then fine wet sand it down to level. If you level it before it sets, you won't have to sand it and it will be smooth. The gaps are so small you won't notice the filling and it will no longer catch your line any more causing breaks. Just if you crank the bail closed look to see where the line is before reeling in. (most people just start reeling and not ever look at it) Or.. just manual close it IMO the best practice to use for spinners. Another fix is to pull or cut the bail wire off and just use the roller. You would have to manual set the line to roller after casting. Plus a situation that you will never have to worry about in the future is having the bail snap shut on a cast and your lure or sinker snap off flying in to outer space. Here's examples of a bailess reel to show what I mean.
  10. BTW, Monkeys like Metallica. http://www.theguardian.com/science/2009/sep/23/monkey-music-tamarins
  11. I looked at Shelt's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sheltfishinglure and saw this quote by a Watt Keller.. ( I took a screen shot ). Does it look familiar? What Daniel1 wrote is exactly the same. So Watt Keller and Daniel1 and Shelt is all the same person. I guess his baits run everywhere and all over the place.
  12. If Daniel1 is Shelt themselves or self, I think maybe he should just follow up with questions or reply to pending inquiries. As a business or of the such, the best customer service is to follow up and commit to customer service. This builds trust and creates the possibility of more sales. The Fat Poppa image request is not a big deal to change and if a mistake was made or taking shortcuts or integrity was waivered at the time, they "Shelt" can correct that and come clean/restoring positive image. To just ignore it and go on trying to push product and possibly defend themselves here is just not good behavior to take to build a positive reputation. Many people here and everywhere take social, ethical .... responsibility seriously. Shelt - to be correct positive and inclusive in your trade amongst bait sellers can be very good business for you. To build that relationship and to create good ethics to the business can promote positive business to the bait trade and rest of the bait sellers. I used to be afraid to order blank baits from these who knows who they are companies. I am somewhat comfortable now being I have ordered from a few. I am always looking for something new and only know of the handful of sellers that are listed as information on this board. I have ordered from China also. The ones I have communicated and done business with have been great to work with and have built trust with me including the one company from China. I am really sorry to see Shelt take this approach if it is really how I'm seeing it. I've never heard of Shelts until reading this thread. I would have ordered from them for sure but after this, I just can't compel myself to do business with Shelt.
  13. I saw that Fat poppa photo and noticed that to be familar. After you mentioning this, I totally recall it. Ethics are really important to me and if this doesn't get fixed, I will never deal with them.
