  1. People spray KBS. I dip in KBS though
  2. Here this past week I've done a couple batches of lures using etex. So far I like what I see but I'll put them through my torture test tomorrow on the lake. They are drawing the lake down for the winter so there will be a ton of rocks to bounce them off of lol
  3. Some of my most recent ones have chipped. I fish very aggressively so I'm always banging my lures off of rocks so that doesn't help it's just the kbs doesn't seem to be fit for the abuse I put my lures for. I want a thicker coat on my lures. I don't full with the bills either the fish don't seem to mind cloudy bills.
  4. KBS is extremely simple to use. You literally just dip it and let it hang. Also hang a piece of a paper clip or thin wire off of the back hook eyelet to let the excess clear coat drip off. I'm starting to go away from KBS though. It doesn't hold up to bouncing off of rocks worth a damn. I've had a few baits start to chip after a few bass.
  5. I'm searching for a blank that resembles a skitter walk and if I can't find one a one knocker walk the dog style blank. Thanks
  6. Check this facebook page out... He has a pretty big selection https://www.facebook.com/groups/559502190836331/

    Sexy shad lot

    First baits I've ever painted!
  8. I understand. Thanks I'll order a mess of them once you put them up.
  9. Thanks. Any idea on when you'll have the fat papa eyes back in stock?
  10. I know dinger sells the eyes but he is sold out and I have looked and looked and looked some more on other sites trying to find them. I know the little John takes 6mm eyes if you cut them. Does anyone know another site that sells the fat papa eyes or what size I need to buy to cut them? Thanks
  11. I'm new to this forum as well so I can't give any advice but the fella I bought my stuff on gave me his lot of 1.5 squarebills that he bought from dakotalakestackle.com. They seem to look fine to the eye, I have both silent and rattling versions and I seem to think that I'll like the rattling version better just because it looks like it will cast better due to the one knocker ball bearing inside it. I also have read that dingerbaits.com and preadatorbassbaits.com are pretty good as well and those two are the ones that I just ordered from 2 days ago. Predator also has DT Series baits for $2 a piece I think. Look forward to seeing your work!
  12. I'm wanting to make my own stencils but I stumbled across a website called lure layouts a few minutes ago. Just curious as to if anyone has used any of their stencils and what they thought of them. They seem like they could be un-even.
  13. Yeah I saw that Rayburn said that after I already posted. I'm a newby here so would you care to explain what "ledd manual turning" is.
  14. I was wondering the same about the different kind of epoxy's. So basically what you are saying is that if you are only painting a few baits at a time you can get away with the 5 minute but if you are painting in large batches you should go with the 30? Also if anyone wouldn't mind chiming in I've been told you don't need a turner if you're using a 2 ton epoxy? Is this true?
  15. So what do you guys think about this package? Everyone is saying go with the revolution so that's what I'm aiming to do. The details on this says the compressor is quiet but does anyone have any first hand experience with it? Like I've said most of my painting will be done once my son is asleep so I'm needing a compressor that isn't going to rattle the walls when it kicks on. I just figure with me being new it might be smart to buy a ready to go package than to try and piece everything together. Thanks everyone for all of the replies. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001PI6H3K?psc=1
