  1. Thanks. I ordered 3 different packs. 32786 7/0 are loose, 32824 8/0 are tight, and the recommended hook on the mold itself # 32786 8/0 was correct. I had assumed the 32786 were tinned, but I received Mustad black nickel hooks from Barlow's. I'll use the rest of the hooks for fishing giant swimbaits and 12" Slug-go's.
  2. Just ordered some Barlow's Mustad 32824, and some of the mold spec'd types. We'll see. Thanks
  3. Wow, above and beyond helpful guys. Now to order some for testing.
  4. The do-it mold calls for Mustad 8/0 for 2,3 & 4oz. It is printed on it. Mustad 91715 or 34184. I have used the tinned in my shad head mold but really want a good hook.
  5. Has anyone discovered a black nickle or bronze 8/0 hook that will work in the DO-IT Ultra minnow 2,3,4,oz. mold? I am so sick of the tinned crap available. Spro jig heads use Gamagatsu's I think. But after an hour on the Interwebs I gave up. Not trying to save money, these are for personal use. Thanks.
  6. This is a great tip, Mark. I usually end up looking like I have a green disease on my hands.
  7. Just have a quick question regarding big Slug-go's type molds. Are there any, lol? I can buy pre-rigged 12" Slug-go's and make my own molds out of resin like I did for the 9" version, but boy that was a lot of work. And then I have to remove two hooks. I spent a lot of time with the dremel grinding out the body cavity to make 'my Fatty's'. Bottomline: I want a 'Fatty' 12" Slug-go to make Rainbow trouts to throw for big Stripers. They eat the stocked trout for breakfast. Matching the hatch sort of speak.
  8. Now I want to try the Bio edge Salmon scent. This place always comes thru!
  9. I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you guys are referring to with the 'heat and reheat' comments. But a post I saw at some point said that they heat the pyrex cup up and then put it in a toaster oven to keep. Then proceed to nuke another color. I thought that was great. I have no idea if it works. Or how many colors you can go with. I would think three would be enough for me.
  10. Well I didn't want to start another thread without something new to say, but I've discovered a couple of things..... I was here 10 years ago, I thought it was a few. Old age makes your time go by real fast. And there was a guy posting as Pourboy plastics 10 years ago, even had a website link. (dead link). So I'm just going to keep the moniker, and if he returns from the twilight like I did, we'll talk.
  11. I'm with you on your original idea though. All plastic with a scent. There is nothing like fooling a fish with something I made up. I bought up 12 bottles of Baitmate Anise years ago before they started adding color and sparkle and it has been my go to for everything. I'm a transplant from Toronto and have never fished for walleye, lol.
  12. That is a neat idea. Use supersoft plastic, and use a bunch of them in a bag. Would be a bit less messy than the real thing. I haven't seen salmon egg scent, maybe if you steal some real eggs out of a jar and add them? I'd try the ProCure tuna scent, it seems to work on salmon. Good luck.
  13. I just reread my response to Jrammit. I meant his pours were going to be a lot better than mine, as I'm out of practice. The darn written word can change what you mean very easily if not used correctly.
  14. This just solved a problem I was having! I'm going to try this on some spinnerbaits I was rebuilding. Thanks Chuck.
