If you have an air filter attached to your airbrush make sure that the o-ring in the filter isn't interfering with the air valve. I had the exact problem with my eclipse hp-cs tonight. As for lubrication I use the same stuff I use at work, the clear iwata oil for spray guns. I've used it for 18 years and never had any problems.
