  1. Made some last summer, not to be a smart ass but as small as your bender will bend!
  2. I have a mold that was modified to make spinner baits. Was truly a pain to keep everything in place until I installed some magnets in the mold, now its a pleasure to use.
  3. Smalljaw may best be able to answer this, why don't we see more "tied" with hair or marabou or what ever spinnerbaits?
  4. Last weekend my son was having a problem with one of his reels. No matter what he did it would only cast about 35 ft, even with all the brakes off. No birds nests, no stuck line? Did some research and ran across an article that talked about how bearings in baitcasters can get dry and also dirty which will hinder casting. Took the problem reel and re lubed the drum bearings yesterday and today the reel worked like a charm! Gonna have to take it back apart and check sizes and give them a try.
  5. Z-man may have some sort of wizzbang machine that bends them in place or they get them semi bent.

    skirt tool

Old article but looks like they were trying to sell some years ago. Naked Bait Company Skirt expanded. http://www.tackletradeworld.com/a-great-opportunity-to-get-some-skirt-company-for-sale/
  7. The problem might be trying to get them through the holes?
  8. Spinner baits and chatter baits are my 2 favorite baits. That being said I have taken advice from smalljaw (thanks) and many others on these baits. Overtime I have improved a bit, modified and failed on modifications. I have some baits that have the coffin style, some rounded and some powder coated. Some bent forward some bent back. Which one works best? Well depends on the day depends on the lake, it just depends. Now just today I was fishing and one of the chatter baits that I was using really does chatter! Can you imagine that a chatter bait that actually chatters or ticks like crazy, my kid actually asked me why it was making that noise. If one looks at the jig it's got chipped coating where it chatters, buggers up my nice paint. Had another jig same exact color, same soft bait just a bit smaller head that doesn't chatter. Had one on each pole and the one that didn't chatter was the one that caught fish today, Go figure?
  9. Been buying mine from these folks, been treating me very well. https://chuckanddeb.com/split_rings.htm

  11. After lots of reading I've notice that some spinnerbaits are not using a split ring at the point where the swivel attaches. I realize that this may depend on wire and swivel size. The current baits I just made (and caught fish with ) were 3/8 oz, .035 wire and Worth swivel attached without split ring. What are the pros and cons of attaching swives withou split rings, and are "thin" rings better or just different? Thanks.
  12. Not a tax expert. Doing business as a sole proprietor doesn't require a federal tax id number, SS number works. Not all states have sales tax so don't always need a State tax id number in every state. Some states allow registering your business name. Your City or County may require a Business license.
  13. And don't forget the 10% Federal tax.

I continually wonder why does one always post to a forum (any forum) when they have a problem ordering from a company (any company)? Would it not be just as easy to contact the company (verse posting to a forum) and ask them what the problem was? I just had an order that went missing with a company, a quick call and they found it and next day aired it no charge. And remember "attitude" will always affect the outcome!
  17. The ones I use vary in color a bit. But this is pretty typical.
  18. Been a lurker on this site for some time. Interesting question as I was ice fishing this weekend using a tip up with a smelt for bait. Thinking there must be a smelt mold or something close somewhere and a good recipe for a color?
