  1. Gotcha. Thanks. I guess instead of using a dual injector it would be best to do the clear part and then cut the top part and then do the hi lite? That way the blue wouldn’t go to the tail.
  2. Does anyone know how this color is made? It is called "Blue Moon". I'm most concerned with the purple part. Is that airbrushed on there?
  3. I'm interested in trying to make custom lures. I made a design in an OBJ file format and am trying to find a way to get a mold made of it. What is my best options? I've tried contacting machine shops but they do not take the file type, and it seems like they need some kind of 2D file that I don't really understand. I'm very new to this. Thanks for the help.
  4. Good to know. I can be packaging baits during that hour or so if heating time. Thanks for sharing.
  5. For those of you using the shooting star machine, how are you heating your plastic? Are you heating in the microwave and transferring? Or heating in the machine itself? If you are heating in the machine, how long does it usually take?
  6. I'll start adding that to the routine. Thanks!
  7. New guy here. Trying to learn as I go along. After pouring about a gallon of plastic over the course of a couple days my injector has become very hard to use. It takes extreme force to pull plastic in and push plastic out. Do I need to oil my injector? If so, how do I do this? If not, what is wrong with my injector?
  8. Thanks for all the input. Didn’t know it was such an expensive task.
  9. Right now I'm buying my skirt strands, and want to save money and avoid the stress of the supplier (lure parts online) running out of stock. Would it be possible to make my own silicone material? If so, how much would it cost? And how can I get started?
