  1. You know, I got to thinking that I got focused on making a duplicate of that bait but realized the baits I made are nice. My own twist I guess. The thing is I had fun playing around trying to make something close. Wasted some plastic, but tonight I came to the conclusion that I am making baits that I think will catch stripers. Hillbilly I agree the fish won't notice and I think I like the more color. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Acamacian
  2. Yeah I think you're right. And that would give the all pearl nose.
  3. These are the ones I made tonight. Same white pearl/white with LC laser purple .008. Don't think the pic is great. Not sure which ones I like better. Thinking these one. Making for striper baits
  4. Both top and bottom have only white pearl/white colorant. Same amount for both. The top I mixed 8 oz plastic with 1 tsp purple. I tried again tonight with same plastic but a holo purple glitter. I may like them better. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow. Going through some plastic but having fun.
  5. I think I am getting close. I do find sometimes I add to much color. So I added less white pearl. I hand poured the bottom and injected the top. I think it is more purple color then lavender, but that is what glitter I have. So Fishermanbt, if I am reading this right, you bleed them together on a hot plate after you shoot both halves separately and then heat to blend? Interesting.
  6. The picture is what I am trying to make, my attempts aren't close. Its an injection mold. I tried a blending block and it didn't work. That's when I though I would pour the bottom and inject the top. I thought it was a white pearl but no. Unless I am adding to much. I did some searching and seen a recipe of red and blue to make a lavender. ( I don't have red) But I keep thinking its more of a white. This mold takes a good amount of plastic
  7. I am trying to make this in an 8" Angling AI mold. It looks simple, but I am very bad at matching colors. I've tried a few things today and went through some plastic as this takes a lot. Very nice mold though. First off I cannot get the color right even though it looks easy. I tried hand pouring the bottom but thinking now I should hand pour the top. I am looking for advice. Much appreciated. Acamacian
  8. I have used the presto pot and what I have found is as the paddle goes around the side of the pot ends up burning the plastic. I have a tendency of scraping it off and ruin the rest of the plastic. Not a fan yet.
  9. I also find when I reheat lighter colors especially white pearl they brown a little bit like they have burned. And you are right it is a disgusting smell when you really overheat.
