  1. Hello all, I'm looking for a heavy 90 degree jig hook that goes down to a size #4 or even a #6. What I have in mind is a small ballhead jig that would appeal to bass or even a big trout wanting small forage. The hook would need enough strength to not bend out during a fight with 8 or 10 lb line. I've searched a lot on this site and the general consensus points to the Mustad 32833 2X strong steelhead hook. While I agree that it's a dandy hook, I'd love to be able to find something similar that doesn't have the short eye length. Something that would work with minimal modification with most 90 degree jig molds. Only other idea I have is the Mustad 32500 skipjack hook. Seems like this hook can be found in #4 and #6 sizes and is a tad stronger than other hooks in that size range. It's still not as strong as the 32833, which is unfortunate. Does anyone know of any other hooks that fit the bill? Thank you!
  2. Hi Looking for some more information on electrostatic conveyor painting system for lead heads. specifically a gun/ paint box set up that only coats the top half of the jig and the recovery system. from what I gather there are systems out there that don’t require the jugs to be masked off. Any insight into this would be much appreciated
  3. Has anyone ever used a thin superglue (penetrates well) and accelerator to instantly cure the glue used to seal the thread? If so, did the accelerator leave a residue on the material (natural, silicon, or rubber)?
  4. Hello All, I am looking for help trying to find a mold that has the same head as the Do-It Shake-It mold in 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 but need it to work with the Gamakatsu 291 in sizes 2,1 and 1/0. I see the P/N SRH-6-A on the Do-it website but it references that it works with the Flat Eye 60° Mustad 32798 or the Gamakatsu 604 (90 degree)?? I know what I am looking for exists because I owned the mold and lost it. Any help would be great.
  5. I’ve been using Loon’s UV clear fly finish THIN to coat and secure my swimjig and bladed jig 3D eyes after sticking them on. I’m finding the coating insufficient at times as the eyes are breaking loose every now and then. Thin is awesome on the threads as finishing cement, but I’m wondering if UV THICK would be a better choice to finish the heads/eyes. Any experience with both to confirm I’m thinking correctly? thx!!
  6. I’m using Gorilla Super Glue Gel (have also tried locktite gel)... seems like every other head turns out like this because the tiniest bit of gel squeezes out around the weedguard. Is this just a case of “tough luck use less glue” or is there a super glue (gel or otherwise) that truly dries clear/leaves no hazy residue?
  7. So I’ve been making jigs for a few years now and from time to time, some type of residue stains my jig heads after I cure them in my toaster oven. It seems that you can only see it on the white or lighter colored jig heads. I first started noticing the residue in the racks in the toaster oven. Thought it was rust at first so I bought a new toaster oven, but the first time I used the new one the same thing happened. All of the hooks I use are black nickel finish. Could that finish be melting off in my toaster oven? If so, am I getting it too hot? I usually bake my heads for 25 minutes on 350 degrees.
  8. Looking for some references to get a custom jig mold created. I have hand drawings of what I’m looking for. Just need someone to put it in CAD and then Mill it. also - does anyone know the cost of getting spin cast molds made? I’m trying to figure out the numbers to go from hand pouring to a spin caster.

  15. I am looking for a flipping jig head with a horizontal line tie like below. The lead head appears to encapsulate the line tie, has a weight forward design and is a little wider than some jigs you find. I just want the jig head, no weedguard, unpainted, no skirt, with a Gamakatsu hook. 1/8" hole for weedguard is fine. 5/16oz and 1/2 oz are preferred weights with corresponding hook sizes 3/0 - 5/0 regular round bend Gamakatsu Hook. Where can I find this? I'd love to find a place or person who makes custom jig heads I can order in bulk but no luck so far. Don't want to pour my own heads, just want to paint, add weedguard and skirt.

    Perch

Rabbit hair Perch . I used a minnow head and powder coated it with a technique I have developed over the years. There are four different colors of paint and some glitter. Five coats of clear finish. No two paint jobs are the same. There in an orange piece of rabbit on the belly and fire tiger holographic flashabou on the flanks. The length of the jig is approximately six inchs

  21. Does anybody know of a process that will keep paint off the swivel on a horsehead/roadrunner jig?
  22. This jig was designed by BASS pro Lucas Ragusa. It features a monster Owner XXX Strong hook, and the perfect head design to slide through the thickest of cover. This skirt is his go to color. When the bite gets tough, you bet this is in his hand.

  23. Does anyone know where to purchase the twisted wire used for weedguards in some jigs. I have also seen it used on PJ's Lures Shakey Heads. Thanks
  24. I'm new here and tried to search for bleeding colors with know results. Hopefully someone can help me out. I pour crappie jigs and then use the VPI paint to color the tops of them. Works great on all colors but Pink and or Orange. Does anyone have any ideas? It doesn't matter if the jig is char or white, or even clear. Orange or pink sprayed on will result in bleeding after a few weeks. I have had this problem with the pink and orange when I use those colors in plastisol as well. They will bleed over to the lighter colors. There has to be away since there are so many plastic jigs and worms on the market thta have char and pink or ornage in combimation. ANt help would be apprciated. Thanks
