It's 10:04 pm and it's 67 degrees. The windows are open and the shorts are back on. Life is good in East Texas.

12/5/2014: It's 21:22 and 41 deg in Lexington, NC. The temp is still dropping and I have just put a new cover on my boat to get ready for the tons of rain that is about to fall here. However, I will fish on Sunday regardless of the weather. I still have not grown up or developed much common sense when it comes to fishing.

Same for me Skeeter. I used to go out no matter what the conditions were just to see if I could even get a fish to bite. Everyone thought I was nuts. (which I probably am, but that's a different story) I used to tell everyone what they called bad weather was just nature's way of weeding out the weak.

These Texas "winters" are spoiling me again. I've been wearing shorts and sleeping with the windows open for several days now. Just don't get any better than that.

I should have know better than to open my mouth Curt. Had to shut the windows and light the heater about an hour ago. Supposed to be back in the low 70's by Wednesday though. Guess I'll stay where I am. A high of 38 just isn't that appealing to my old bones these days.

You never know what winter is going to be like around here Curt. I can remember fishing on Sam Rayburn in December and it was almost 90 degrees. Can also remember fishing and it was so cold that one of the old Ray Jefferson picture tube depth finders wouldn't warm up enough to even come on. Caught a bunch of fish that day too.

i've got to start watching the weather forecast a little closer. Was having days in the high 60's and low 70's with night temps in the low 60's. Have had the windows open for a few days now. Got down into the mid 40's the other night and still had the windows open. Got a bit brisk in the house.

Was finally able to turn the a/c off and open up the windows yesterday. Can't begin to describe how good that clean, cool, fresh air felt.

Good for you! We're actually having a bit of an Indian summer here the last 48 hours. Temps yesterday and today in the mid 70s. A bit on the muggy side, but still better than the alternative.

We were running the wood pellet stove last week! Looks like we will be again next week too, based on the forecast. Oh well, it is October after all :)

Hi guys. It's been a long time. I had a 2nd computer crash and lost my info. I managed to sign in because of an email from TU but I can't reset my email (sarmst1997@aol.com because it is already in use under my first identity ddsbyday. I don't have the energy to keep trying to get it straightened out or start over creating a new identity. Sorry.

When you see a bunch of fire ants waving a flag of truce you know that summer is definitely here.
