  1. I can't think of another lake where you can catch fish like these and still consider it a tough trip. We fished four full days and the wind never stopped blowing. It blew all day and all night the whole time we were there. The bad thing about South Texas is there's nothing to block the wind except for the odd coyote you'll see every now and then. To say the lake was rough would be an understatement. We heard about a boat sinking while we were there because of the rough water. Needless to say we couldn't fish any of the offshore spots that we were really counting on for both numbers and size. We did manage to pull a few decent fish out of some of the shallow brush in the 4 to 8 foot range. There were a total of 6 of us who made the trip with a few more in the 7 to 9 pound range caught, but none of us caught the numbers of fish that a couple of the guys had caught on their last trip about a month ago. When I got home I felt like I had been drug down 40 miles of bad road and whipped with a trace chain the entire way. Beat up, hurting all over, worn down to a nub and can't wait to go back. If you like to bass fish then fishing Falcon is something you should have on your "bucket list". Just try to schedule your trip when it's under 110 degrees and the wind isn't trying to sink the boat. Ben
